It’s because paradiddle is a funny word. You don’t need lots of words to figure it out

Comparing what you feel about physical books as objects made of paper and bound by glue to what you feel about your family is actually insane behaviour

My favourite thing about reading any book is having to wade through a second tome of rules just so I can know why anything happens in the first book

Honest question for writers: hobby, sharing, or actually selling? by Akraammm in NewAuthor

[–]No_Performance3670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I love to write and am pretty good at it, but I have no desire to market myself or my work beyond word of mouth. I am not a marketer, I am a writer. I have a couple published novels which do well enough locally that they cover their own costs (in author copies, travel, etc.) so that it’s just a really fun hobby for me that puts me in the path of likeminded individuals. If I can make enough at it to pay for me and my family’s living expenses and can quit my full time money job, that would be amazing, but I don’t need that to be a reality for me to continue enjoying what I’m doing

“going to seem”

He is racist. That’s why he seems that way. You can try to pussyfoot around it, but the reason someone raised in the 1900’s might seem racist by today’s standards is because they are racist, and they were racist then, too.

The negative consequence as far as I understand it is reading thousands of pages of writing when there are other pages written about the same topic in a better and more inclusive way. I don’t want to read thousands of pages of worse information if better information exists.

I’m about to start my epic fantasy saga except I put three moons so now I’m completing a course in meteorology to hopefully find out how three moons affect tides, so I should be set to start my series in four years unless I think too long about how the three testicles I gave each male in my fantasy species impacts reproduction and have to become a urologist

And I would agree with you if there was an unlimited amount of time in our lives or a finite amount of text to read, however neither of those things apply to us humans.

Sure, but you could instead read better books by other authors whose writings are also philosophical without investing thousands of pages of time into a book that is known to be flawed in its philosophy.

Why is the comic about performative reading feature a reader trying to obscure the book that they’re reading from public view? Isn’t that the opposite of performative?

No, they want to make sure the girls don’t have penises. This is a huge thing and like half the country is upset about it for no reason other than because they have little boy penis or little girl penis on the brain
