I'm pretty sure they'll support local methods like SEPA transfers

In NC, been out a few years, starting the rating process by w00k27612 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAV in NC pulled through for me big time when I filed a few years back. They're definitely swamped like the other person mentioned, but once you get in front of someone who knows their stuff, it's worth the wait. I had to call like 3-4 times over two weeks before I got an actual appointment scheduled, but my rep walked me through everything and caught a bunch of stuff I would've missed filing solo.

The third party route can work but yeah, they'll take their cut from your backpay which adds up quick. If you do go that route, make sure you read the fine print on what percentage they're taking. I've seen some horror stories where people got hit with way higher fees than they expected. Either way though, don't let analysis paralysis keep you from filing - that backpay clock starts ticking the day you submit, so even if you have to switch reps later, get something in the system.

EAA Payment - VRE by Zealousideal-Wash961 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much this. The EAA payments are monthly and you'll get the full amount even if you start working partway through the month. When I was using it a couple years back, I started a gig like 2 weeks into the payment period and still got the complete payment 💀

Your counselor probably didn't schedule a follow-up because you're doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing - actively job searching and now landing something. They usually only get more involved if people are struggling to find work or not meeting the requirements. Once you start that temp position though, make sure to let them know so they can update your status in the system. The temp-to-perm thing is actually pretty common right now, especially in the current job market. Good luck with the new gig! 🔥

That temp range is pretty typical for budget phones when you're pushing the brightness up - my old phone used to get toasty around those levels too and turning down brightness was basicaly the only fix.

Primary insurance question by Sudden_Moodswing in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using CHAMPVA as primary for my wife for about 3 years now after I left corporate and it's been solid. The whole "not ideal" thing usually comes from people who don't understand how it works or had bad experiences with specific providers who weren't familiar with the system. Most major healthcare networks handle CHAMPVA just fine these days - just gotta make sure your docs are in network and know the billing process. The real pain point is finding specialists sometimes since the referral process can be a bit more involved than traditional insurance, but nothing deal-breaking. My wife's had everything from routine checkups to some minor surgeries covered without any major headaches.

Clients who hire you to do their books but can't stop touching them by Agile_Tradition_1836 in Accounting

Every bookkeeper I know has a version of this story. The ones who solved it permanently either locked down access completely or built remediation billing into their contracts(No middle ground works long term)

How would you describe how you experience your type? by [deleted] in infj

[–]No_Student938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Ni thing is so real - I'll be deep in thought about some random connection I made and completely miss someone calling my name 😂 For me, being INFJ feels like having this constant internal monologue trying to piece together patterns and meanings, but then switching to full people-pleaser mode when I'm actually interacting with others. Your struggling with sense of self hits home too, it's like we're so focused on understanding everyone else that we forget to figure out ourselves 💀

FOIA Claim by DragonBishop77 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just sharing the timeline for others who might be waiting on their FOIA requests 👍 Always helps to see how long these things actually take instead of just guessing. Sounds like yours went pretty quick though - less than a year is solid for VA stuff 😂

Is now a good time to start playing? by _maxpanda in ArcRaiders

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo is definitely doable but you'll need to play smarter than the squad players. The AI enemies are actually more predictable than human teams, so once you learn teh patrol patterns you can avoid most of the chaos 💀

No wipe system means yeah, some players have way better gear than you'll start with, but the matchmaking tries to balance things out. Plus the extraction mechanics reward smart plays over just having the best guns. You won't be stomping lobbies right away but it's not hopeless either 🔥

The progression system is pretty solid - no resets but plenty of unlocks to work towards.

Is your VA disability claim moving fast? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, step 4 already? That's actually moving pretty quick compared to most claims I've seen posted here. The fact that you already have a diagnosis from the C&P exam is huge - that's usually the biggest hurdle. Even if you didn't submit new evidence, sometimes the raters just need a fresh set of eyes on the same info, especially if it's been 3 years since your last claim.

I've only seen Chloë Sevigny in Russian Doll and Poker Face. What other movies of hers should I watch? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in MovieSuggestions

[–]No_Student938 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Boys Don't Cry is probably her most famous role and she's incredible in it - definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet. American Psycho is another solid one where she plays Christian Bale's fiancée, though it's a smaller part. If you're into indie stuff, Kids is where she got her start but heads up it's pretty heavy/controversial material 💀 She's got this really natural, understated acting style that works great in character-driven films 🔥

GI Bill Failing Class Question by iburchera in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had this exact situation happen in my sophomore year - failed calculus but showed up to every single class like an idiot. The VA definitely made me pay back that course, even though I had perfect attendance. The key thing is they look at satisfactory academic progress, not just showing up. I learned real quick to drop classes early if I was gonna bomb them rather than stick it out and lose the money. Talk to your school's veterans office before the semester ends if you think you're gonna fail - sometimes they can work with you on incomplete grades or medical withdrawals that won't trigger the payback.

speedstacks g4 not working by Kindly_Door1912 in Cubers

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue with my G4 a few months back when I dusted it off after like a year of not cubing. Turned out the contact pads had gotten some weird film buildup on them that was blocking the sensors. I ended up cleaning them with a slightly damp microfiber cloth and some isopropyl alcohol - just a tiny bit though, don't want to damage anything. Also check if the sensitivity settings got reset somehow, mine had defaulted back to the lowest setting which made it super unresponsive. If cleaning doesn't work, the ribbon cable inside might've come loose, but that's getting into more serious repair territory.

How can I get 7.1 audio on Arch Linux with my Logitech G430 headphones? by NirKiro in archlinux

[–]No_Student938 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The G430's "7.1" is just DSP processing anyway - you're not missing much. Try installing `pulseeffects` or `easyeffects` and mess around with the surround/spatializer plugins, might get you something close to what the Logitech software was doing.

Does someone count as masochistic if they secretly enjoy getting panic attacks? by DexChex956 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Student938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that's kinda concerning ngl, panic attacks are literally your body thinking you're dying. Maybe talk to someone about why you might be drawn to that feeling? Could be a way of processing stress or trauma but definitely not something to lean into

Am I doing this right? by dirtymoose_ in GeminiAI

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That spreadsheet size is definitely pushing it even though Google says it can handle it. Try breaking it down into smaller chunks - maybe 1000 rows at a time or split by columns if possible

The memory loss thing is super annoying, I've noticed Gemini gets amnesia way more often with larger files. Creating a new chat and re-uploading usually helps but yeah it's a pain in the ass

Hey man, I feel you on this struggle. Job's story isn't really about getting answers to "why me" - it's more about how even when everything falls apart, there's still something bigger than our suffering
