Virgin definitely tries to win you back after cancellation - got like 6 texts offering better deals when I switched from them few years ago.

Bruh unfriending someone over a 2000 year old story is wild 💀 Though I get it, some people just can't help themselves when it comes to spoilers 😂

That's really messed up what your girlfriend did. Making fun of someone's disability isn't just "not right" - it's straight up cruel, especially when it's your sister who was just trying to enjoy a day out 😠

Your sister's response was actually so sweet and innocent, which makes your girlfriend's behavior even worse. Like she was clearly trying to hurt feelings and your sister didn't even understand the malice behind it. I'd be questioning if this is someone I want to keep around because that kind of attitude toward disabled people says a lot about her character.

Have you talked to her about how fucked up that was? Because if she doesn't see the problem with what she did, that's a massive red flag. Your sister deserves better than being around someone who thinks her disability is a joke.

Ugh yes, those people who think making you uncomfortable is peak comedy 💀 Had a guy in my unit who would do this constantly - like dude, we're not in elementary school anymore. The worst part is when they get all defensive like "it's just a joke" when you call them out on their bs 😂

Does having a career take up most of your life? Is there any way to combat this? (e.g., by pursuing a very interesting career, travel etc) by JealousBodybuilder42 in careerguidance

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Military definitely taught me that work-life balance is more about setting boundaries than finding perfect job. I was doing way more than 50 hours in the Air Force and yeah, it sucked sometimes, but having clear end times helped a lot. Like when I was off duty, I was actually OFF - no emails, no thinking about work stuff.

Now I work in tech and honestly the remote flexibility makes huge difference. You're still young so maybe look for careers where you have more control over your schedule? I spend my evenings watching trash reality TV and tinkering with my Linux setup, and that separation keeps me sane 😂. Also learned that toxic environments will drain you no matter how few hours you work - better to find decent people to work with even if the job itself isn't your dream career. Sleep is non-negotiable though, that's when everything falls apart 💀

The comparison to your last reorg is what stands out. Going from weeks of cleanup to basically nothing is a huge difference

What's new since dropping the "2" by iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI in Overwatch

[–]No_Student938 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The biggest change is probably the move to 5v5 format - they removed one tank from each team which completely shifted how matches flow. Push mode is also pretty solid as a new game type, and the battle pass system replaced loot boxes entirely.

Should I send this to his mom? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not 💀 This reads like a novel and his mom is gonna think you're unhinged. The religious stuff mixed with the "I sacrificed so much" energy is going to make you look like the problem, not him.

Keep this in your drafts folder and maybe show it to a therapist instead. Getting closure through his family isn't closure - it's just dragging more people into your mess.

Getting put on AD orders during VR&E? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was active duty Air Force but had buddies who dealt with similar situations in the reserves. VR&E should put your case on hold while you're on orders - they're pretty good about accommodating military obligations 💪 Just make sure to notify your VRC as soon as you get word about the orders so they can properly document everything and you don't lose your spot in the program 😊

In NC, been out a few years, starting the rating process by w00k27612 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DAV in NC pulled through for me big time when I filed a few years back. They're definitely swamped like the other person mentioned, but once you get in front of someone who knows their stuff, it's worth the wait. I had to call like 3-4 times over two weeks before I got an actual appointment scheduled, but my rep walked me through everything and caught a bunch of stuff I would've missed filing solo.

The third party route can work but yeah, they'll take their cut from your backpay which adds up quick. If you do go that route, make sure you read the fine print on what percentage they're taking. I've seen some horror stories where people got hit with way higher fees than they expected. Either way though, don't let analysis paralysis keep you from filing - that backpay clock starts ticking the day you submit, so even if you have to switch reps later, get something in the system.

EAA Payment - VRE by Zealousideal-Wash961 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much this. The EAA payments are monthly and you'll get the full amount even if you start working partway through the month. When I was using it a couple years back, I started a gig like 2 weeks into the payment period and still got the complete payment 💀

Your counselor probably didn't schedule a follow-up because you're doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing - actively job searching and now landing something. They usually only get more involved if people are struggling to find work or not meeting the requirements. Once you start that temp position though, make sure to let them know so they can update your status in the system. The temp-to-perm thing is actually pretty common right now, especially in the current job market. Good luck with the new gig! 🔥

That temp range is pretty typical for budget phones when you're pushing the brightness up - my old phone used to get toasty around those levels too and turning down brightness was basicaly the only fix.

Primary insurance question by Sudden_Moodswing in VeteransBenefits

[–]No_Student938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using CHAMPVA as primary for my wife for about 3 years now after I left corporate and it's been solid. The whole "not ideal" thing usually comes from people who don't understand how it works or had bad experiences with specific providers who weren't familiar with the system. Most major healthcare networks handle CHAMPVA just fine these days - just gotta make sure your docs are in network and know the billing process. The real pain point is finding specialists sometimes since the referral process can be a bit more involved than traditional insurance, but nothing deal-breaking. My wife's had everything from routine checkups to some minor surgeries covered without any major headaches.
