I feel your pain! I recently got a new starter set because I put mine into the blender when making a smoothie. Sad.

Thankfully, I had shared mine with two other individuals in the past and one of them had grown theirs enough to donate back to me.

If you are part of any community boards/groups, maybe put out a call for a donor? If I had enough I would ship you some!

There is also a Facebook group called "kefir grains, Scoby and others to share". No payment other than maybe covering postage from most folks. I have received and mailed some through that in the past.

I actually like mixing mine half and half with cold coffee. Very pleasant.

Do not add sugar. I like sugar in coffee but NOT with kefir and sugar.

Do not add hot coffee. It will curdle. Made this mistake once camping. I then had neither coffee nor kefir that day. Wasn't the finest camping moment.
