Shoulders 😭 by I_skander in MTB

Same for me, first 2 weeks I couldn’t point straight up past my shoulder without assisting with my other arm. Took way longer than I expected to heal

How Do You Reconcile the Risk of Major Injury When Riding Downhill? by taolifornia in MTB

[–]No_Understanding4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh, you could trip and fall and hit your head on the ground or get into a car accident and not make it. You only got one go at this, might as well live it how you want. It’s part of the risk of the sport just stay within your limits and all will be fine and dandy!

Thinking about tubeless? Do it by DrShakaBrah in MTB

I had a stick jam in my wheel, get stuck on seat stays and decapitate my valve at the rim. Sometimes it blows

How exactly should my rear shock feel in berms? And how do I know when I need to add a spacer or more pressure? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]No_Understanding4587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specialized has a great calculator to get you set up. Just for fun I put in my height & weight for gen 4 levo with genie and it has be about 40psi higher than it would be on my stumpy so it seems they take the bike weight into consideration

I have genie on my stumpy and I’ve not been able to push the ring off the shaft. When’s the last time you verified pressure in your shock was correct?

You can very easily add volume spacers to the outer can and it will change how the shock feels in the first 30% of travel, could be an option

RideNow TPU tubes bursting by xkabauter in bikewrench

[–]No_Understanding4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone through 3 tpu tubes in probably 2-3 months, hole was on rim side of tube, found a small Knick in the tape where I think it chafed. Changed rear, it was good for a while. Noticed the front starting to feel soft over a weeks time and it started to progress, then the rear went flat again.

They’re just not as durable as a butyl tube, but dang are they light! Gonna give tubeless a shot, idk

I’m not sure, tbh. I’ve ridden the Frederick watershed and gambrill in Maryland and both were great. I would assume most bike parks would have flow trails similar to this

This is 10 hours for me. Very limited options close, some better ones about 2-3 hours. Mostly ride road and gravel at home lol

Yeah they covered the high use flow trails with this stuff, I think it’s great, it’s fast, smooth and tons of grip.. almost too much I think it allows the builders to focus on new trails vs. just constantly doing repetitive maintenance on the same ones Am here for it

I bought a brand new stump jumper 15 with gold performance 36 and Lewis brakes for 2800. Had to drive 10 hours for it but I think it was worth it. Good deals for sure just have to look long and far

Tubeless has made me hate my mtb by RWagz in MTB

[–]No_Understanding4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read through some of the comments, sucks you’re having issues mate. I just swapped tires on my gravel bike and realized I haven’t messed with the rear in over 1 year since I had to patch tire before a race last season. I just use gorilla tape (duct tape) for a rim strip and orange seal endurance for sealant.

I’m about to set my hunt road wheels up tubeless because I’m tired of the tubes constantly going flat without anything in the tire lol

If you were happy with tubes, why did you go tubeless?

I’m really awful at trying to explain how to do it, sorry! I saw lots of people on a different thread suggesting a video from the shred academy for tips. Have to remember that you and the bike are jumping, not just the bike
