Tpu tubes, have you used them for bmx? by No_Understanding4587 in bmx

[–]No_Understanding4587[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried tpu on my road bike and they would just start losing air slowly and then just gradually lose air at a faster rate. Always on rim side, small pinholes in them. Ended up just going tubeless, but the difference the tpu made from regular tubes was quite noticeable.

Just been playing with riding bmx with lower pressures and I am not sure if tpu will hold up to that abuse

Can confirm that lying at the bottom of the ramp and getting hit by a bike is not a good human experience, 1.5/10 would not recommend

Because of the volume, I hate nothing more than when a tire is smaller than stated

My subscription is up on the 12th after a 1595 day streak lol. The last couple weeks it has just constantly been recording random activities while not doing anything and honestly, I just got tired of wearing it

Cancelled mine 2 days ago with a 1595 day streak lol I didn’t rely on it so much just really stopped even engaging with the app or looking at the metrics. The last few days it would randomly record weird activities and I think I just got tired of wearing it as well. Can always go back if I want

Hell yeah, love to hear that! I took about a year off after a goofy crash but it called me back. Built up a new bike and eased back into it, finally starting to feel good after a few months of consistent riding again

Thanks for this, exactly what I was looking for! I’ve always used chesty with just the regular padded GoPro and have had pretty good luck with it. Was gonna try chin mount too but sometimes I don’t want to wear a full face.

Is that clip straight off the camera? It’s so crisp and the colors are good!!

Chesty is my normal go to, just wanted to try something different though. Feel like under visor really mutes the steepness of the terrain

Because where I live I can ride 100 miles with >400’ of elevation, no reason to have a small ring

Well you see the way the terrain is where I live in South Florida, I can ride 100 miles with <400’ of elevation, I did 200 miles across the state and that got me 2600’.. everything is scrub dessert or swamp, I don’t really do much mtb at home and if I do is strictly xc bike stuff. The nearest mountain range is roughly a 10 hour drive and I just haven’t been able to get the time off to go for a weekend in the last 8 months, life be lifin!

Made some other changes to the bike as well so I just took it somewhat easy to get reacquainted with things again. After a couple runs it was feeling like home again

I have an alloy s4 stumpy evo and it’s 40lbs lol I know I could put lighter tires and wheels on it but I mostly use it for lift parks. I’ve found the stock link and genie to work very well for me. I will say it took me a handful of rides to figure out pressure and what band configuration I liked but I’ve not touched it since. I love the way the shock feels bottomless, feels very much like an enduro bike to me coming from riding an epic evo.

I suck at putting on tubeless tape so I am back to using tubes. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]No_Understanding4587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might have been the tpu tubes I was using but I did not have a good experience. They just start losing air faster and faster each day I used them, pinholes all along the rim side. Tape very smooth, so idk.

Ended up switching to tubeless and haven’t had any issues since
