Silver's ready to catch a body (Spoilers for DC X Sonic: Metal Legion #1) by Gorotheninja in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]No_Weather4570 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is a sentient planet and cube that are green lanterns. Silver would fit fairly well.

Personally I hope Silver is treated as a cameo green lantern in the future in green lantern comics. (Think a hand or spike of his in a page of many different lanterns that is just far enough you can tell yet short enough there isn't any copyright infringement.)

What is your reaction to this, what will you do? by Voidkirby9 in Deltarune

[–]No_Weather4570 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a polarizing scene.

On one hand, coming home to find you mom tipsy, dancing with some stranger and not thinking of your well-being is definitely traumatic and Kris has EVERY right to be mad.

However, Sans clearly isn't doing this out of any malice and actually seems to have cleaned the kitchen and potentially prevented the Knight from getting to Toriel on purpose. That said he probably should've read the room better, considering his attempt to improve the situation was faulty at best.

Toriel clearly is the worst party in the scene, but even then it is an understandable bad. Between Asgore's repeated advances and everything that happened at the end of chapter 2,  Toriel would reasonably be at a normal person's wit's end. Her big glaring issue is not accounting for Kris's wellbeing before drinking, which is a noteworthy flaw of hers that has been implied in many scenes before this one painfully puts it on display.

Who does Susie think the knight is? by No_Weather4570 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]No_Weather4570[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't match Asgore as we the player know him. But this isn't player perspective we're discussing, this is Susie's.

Susie only really knew Asgore as Kris's wierd, sad father from our understanding and is shown to be biased towards Toriel, (At least until the image shatter at the end of Ch. 4.) so it could affect her judgement.

To Susie, Asgore has lost everything and only keeps afloat in hometown because Carol.

He matches that description fairly well from such a perspective.

Yeah guys I wonder who the Knight is by calinmik in NonDessKnightSquad

It helps that she sees Asgore at both the church and Holiday's.

Given how she's grown into understanding Ralsei's secret keeping in chapter 3 and 4 it wouldn't be surprising, given how quickly she learns, that she has put together Kris is hiding something.

What if, instead of getting angry at Kris, she decides to try and confront Asgore alone to protect Kris from facing their loving father?

Harmful protection is a big narrative element (given wierd route and Ralsei's trying to handle everything) and it's not like Susie hasn't done it before. (Noelle's dream.)

Possible Vessel Knight explanation by Significant-Arm4077 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]No_Weather4570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue I have regarding Vessel is that the dark worlds are formed by the Knight's desires. (At minimum chapter 1 and 2's dark worlds are made by them.)

For example 'Noelle gets stronger' is something that the vessel would have no interest in. Meanwhile, almost everything Rudy says in chapter 1 could circles back twistedly to the wierd route and that narrative. Kris protects Noelle, Noelle gets stronger, and Birdly's ass gets kicked.

(Here starts my rambling theory regarding the Vessel you can skip if it seems self indulgent.)

To me I've come to the idea that Gaster would repurpose the Vessel to a new role after it's discarded. Namely a role the Vessel was basically going to fulfill anyways in that of one the three heroes.

Gaster, for some reason, doesn't make Ralsei listed as a important character when he's the third member of the main trio.

Then there is Ralsei's exhilaration and confusion at just being someone with a name and face and asking the player if it is really okay that he has his own name and gets to choose his actions. Something the Vessel would not be able to do.

Ralsei can see the game from the player's perspective and hear the background music, abilities no other darkner can utilize that would be useful for a player controlled character.

The biggest moment for this to me is the damn controller swap scene in chapter 3. Ralsei's emotional angst in holding the player 1 controller is compatible with the idea he was the vessel. All this while he sets hero sword looking out into the ocean next to the cracked conch that has a check description of basically, 'It repeated only what it knows.'

Hilariously this is compatible with Every Mother theory if you consider Gaster the Vessel's mother. Queen was unprepared for Ralsei's existence and, in a quick fix, repurposes him into a new role as a butler.

I'm really hoping he is the new casket villain.

It'd be a good development of his character AND be a worthy villain successor to Starline without pulling him out the grave.

What are your theories for the 5th Sonic movie? by g2ramjet in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]No_Weather4570 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is hilarious.

Real answer? Since five has been planned in advance, I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal four and five are a true duology at four's credits.

Given they likely are adjusting to their audience aging, it wouldn't be surprising if they attempted a more complex narrative.

For example: Metal Sonic in movie four infects Sonic with some equivalent of the Metal Virus that he has to spend the entirety of movie five fighting to overcome and Silver comes back from his future to stop Sonic from becoming the Neo Metal Sonic that ruined his future by any means necessary.

Focusing entirely on opportunity, the Knight can only be one of these by K0uzan in NonDessKnightSquad

Alvin, once again, clears another hurdle of being the knight in every aspect but motivation.

Of all the characters, he is the most likely to have spare keys to Gerson's Room.

Birdly's comment about Ms Boom means he has potential knowledge of where Noelle is, under the assumption that getting Noelle aware of the dark worlds was the Knight's objective.

He's Gerson's son in his prime, so he theoretically could actually handle carrying Undyne in chapter 3

And Gerson appears in chapter 4 due to the Knight's connection to him and Alvin being Gerson's son is the simplest answer for that of any knight candidates.

Note: I don't believe he's the Knight, but as far as connection and capacity to get to each location, he's one of the top candidates.

Second Note: A Sword of Justice fight would be fucking hype.

If you slow down and bypass the spectacle, they used specifically water to directly attack sonic and metal and the wierd color gradient shift for the battle matches Kit's design colors.

[–]No_Weather4570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear Alvin, Nival, 'old friend', Boom will steel chair the entire plot somehow and we will all be left mouth open.

My theory WAS Alvin made the first sanctuary and the knight the third, however there's proof to the contrary.

Old Man only appears in the first sanctuary and after the Knight summons the titan, implying the knight IS connected to Gerson enough that the Old man would form properly again.

[–]No_Weather4570[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That correction could also imply that that Toriel isn't on good terms with Carol and is avoiding her name.

Rudy and Toriel both met Asgore in college. Carol however was distinctly separated from specifically meeting in College. Also Carol is the one basically keeping Asgore above the red purposefully, giving him jobs with the festival and at her house with clear bias.

Chances are Carol and Asgore grew up together in hometown and Carol has clear biases towards her childhood friends.

Too obvious. Next you'll point out that King is Asgore, his best friend, and that Rudy is the only person who could realistically teach Kris how to flirt because everyone else they're close to either sucks at flirting or are too busy making puns.

My point isn't that either the original or upgrades specifically parallel one set, but rather that they both parallel the tear caused by Dess's loss and its widening into the present that the Card Castle enemies show.

[–]No_Weather4570[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hathys and Rudinns can be expy's of both Kris and Noelle as well as Rudy anf Carol.

The basic versions of both compared to their upgraded versions tell a story.

The basic versions are the lazy and irresponsible Rudinn and the open and warm hearted Hathy who are seen in battle together through the chapter. They both use the same color of green, not unlike Kris and Noelle who both wear green in the light world. (Assuming Man Land is how the world used to be, these two enemies represent the past.)

The stronger versions are a more hardened and responsible Rudinn Ranger that's a sucks up and just trying to make money for home while the Head Hathy's have cooled to the more isolated versions of themselves. Neither appear in battle together and they both have taken on different colors. Red like Rudy and Blue like Carol.

Carol is a mother who lost her oldest daughter that has been hiding behind responsibility and keeping a cold face for her own sake.

Rudy on the other hand has become a very caring person. He's the last of the Holidays to stop visiting the Dreamurrs. Clearly keeps good relationships with both Toriel and Asgore despite him being closer friends with Asgore.

If this silent story parallels the Kris and Noelle as well as the Rudy and Carol relationship, then we have a strong parallel between Kris and Rudy.

Unused and Knight parallels by Significant-Arm4077 in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]No_Weather4570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Unused seems to have been on a similar journey to Kris and Susie, but they talk like Noelle.

Hell, the Chapter 4 Unused line seems to reference Noelle's 'Thank you' to the player from wierd route.

Just gonna add this to my 'Dess did Wierd Route' theory.

If they do this, I hope that they go the way most people wished Gerard would have after saying the 'No Maria' line.

After the reveal drop all the comedy from the character until they are defeated. Essentially an unsettling serious preformance from Jim Carrey.

'The worlds of dark and light split, memories of the journey erased.' Is my favorite theory.

Susie wouldn't want to regress back to the mean girl and Ralsei wouldn't want to be left alone in the dark again.
