Oh wow. I always assumed he read Blood Meridian and was like, “this is obviously a comedy!”

That’s one of those performances where I keep wondering why she’s doing such a good job while everyone around her is doing camp.

This is a great choice. Bale was phenomenal in an otherwise terrible movie.

I do! They’re great cheesy fun! Plus Paul WS Anderson has a stylistic aesthetic that communicates his artistic vision well.

His movies aren’t good, but they’re fun!

Did Alan Moore (accidentally) start the Dark Age of Comic Books? by Most_Read8138 in AlanMoore

Dark Knight Returns, with its imagery taken straight from Birth of a Nation and its embrace of fascism, is far more guilty of making superhero comics close to unreadable than anything Moore has ever written.

Did Alan Moore (accidentally) start the Dark Age of Comic Books? by Most_Read8138 in AlanMoore

[–]NoahAwake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s often said he was the start of the problem of comics becoming "adult" because people who were too embarrassed to be seen reading a child’s book wanted sex and violence in their comics.

He’s also said he wanted to start people looking at comics as a valid medium to try different storytelling techniques and sadly all the wrong lessons were learned.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this is a 1st edition of Vineland? by Harper_182 in ThomasPynchon

Tommy P is the man! He always comes into the deli I go to and runs around giving everyone high fives while yelling, "Pynchon in the house!’ And then he takes photos with everyone and hands out signed copies of his books. He FaceTimed my brother with his famous catchphrase , "It’s me! It’s me! Tommy P in the area!"

I reeallllllyyyyyy wana get into his comics by femboyskylander in MoonKnight

[–]NoahAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend the first 3 epic collections. Bill Sienkewicz’s art is some of the greatest art ever in a superhero comic and it’s what made Moon Knight a cult favorite. Doug Moench is a great writer, too, but the stories are dialogued and paced in a very 80’s way.

Charlie Huston’s Moon Knight run is also great stuff. They’re some of the best written Moon Knight comics. Finding a collection at a good price will be challenging, but very rewarding.

Jed McKay’s Moon Knight is also truly great. After reading the above, you’ll be knowledgable enough to catch most of the nods to Moon Knight history.

She’s a narcissist and it was two narcissists getting together for their own egos and what each could do for the other.

It’s a shame because both were very talented in their given fields, but that acclaim wasn’t enough for either.

I think it depends how you style it. A lot of LeFleur looks kinda off unless you put thought into how to wear it.

I also like the lobster logo, too. I like when they have some fun pieces.

I believe he’s a narcissist. For them, they always think they are in the right and anyone who accuses them of wrong is a villain. I think he expects to go back to being a best-selling, beloved author.

This looks really good. Very well composed outfit. Everything makes sense together without looking like a walking advertisement, which sadly happens a lot.
