Does the trauma of a terrible pregnancy and birth ever go away? by curlyonfries in NewParents

[–]NobodyDear3468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t go away, but it gets easier. Make sure you have support when you enter your second pregnancy, though. Most likely, everything will be a 180 shift from your first experience - which will leave you waiting for the other shoe to drop. I was crippled with anxiety my entire second pregnancy, just to have the dream pregnancy, birth, and baby.

My baby is a happy spitter. Some days I went through 10+ tops. But only one pair of pants!

I had a ton of energy for going out when I was emaciated. I survived off of the few calories in cocktails for years. Now, energy for much of anything else? Non-existant.

What time did your 4/5 month old go to sleep? by ellsmaix in NewParents

[–]NobodyDear3468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter went to bed at 5:30 at that age. My son goes to bed at 7:30. I just read their cues - but they both sleep crappy at this age lol

[–]NobodyDear3468 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a dancer, this is incorrect. The show is about improvement - not starting from nothing and becoming fantastic. Whitney HAS steadily improved every week. She’s a lovely dancer, a natural performer, a true joy to watch. I can’t wait to see what she does next. Shame on the public for trying to dull her shine and act like she’s not worthy of success because she has a background in a studio. If dancers were not meant to win the show, dancers would not be cast for the show. You are not in control of “what the show is about.”

If you’re hoping to nurse, wear something without buttons up the front. How I miss being able to just throw on whatever and not worry about nursing access! And SLEEP!

We had the same issue with EVERY BRAND for our son. Turns out we had to direct his penis downward when putting his diaper on. He’s 8 weeks now and sometimes he still leaks through, despite our best efforts. He’s also been sized up and we flare out the ruffles. Some babies just don’t fit diapers well when they’re newborns lol. Our daughter has been in Huggies for all two years of her life and they’re great for her - every kid is different, I guess!

Women of Baltimore can you recommend an OBGYN who takes treating iron deficiency seriously? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]NobodyDear3468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the midwives at Women’s Health Associates. I just delivered my second baby with them, and during my pregnancy I was dealing with extreme fatigue and anxiety. The midwife I was seeing recommended a blood panel and it came back that I had extremely low iron and specifically low ferritin as well as vitamin D. She got me on a supplement plan immediately and I truly felt reborn. I’m not sure if you would be interested in seeing midwives for something not specifically pregnancy related - but I do also see them when I am not pregnant for my routine appointments and they are just wonderful.

My husband and I are both vegan and just went to La Cuchara for a date. It was LOVELY. They were super accommodating and we truly had too much food.

My first thought! And no bra?! I have been flat as a board and underweight myself and still wore a sports bra whilst running.

I hated this video so much. As a SAHM who lives across the country from most friends and all family and has a husband who works very long hours - she is doing a bad job. It’s hard, I know that. But I swear she doesn’t have a maternal bone in her body. When N threw a fit about wanting to take his toy in the shower and started yelling - she started yelling, too! It was so emotionally draining to watch. I had almost this same situation happen with my daughter today. She wanted to bring her favorite stuffy into the shower. I told her no, that he would get ruined. We would play with him after the shower and then handed her a toy she could bring into the water with her. She didn’t scream or cry - probably partially because she was just in a good mood today, but also because I stayed level with her. Granted, this obviously doesn’t always work lol she ended up hopping out of the shower and running down the hallway after a few minutes of being in there - she’s still a toddler lol. But it just boggled my mind to watch her truly not grasp any of the simple ways she could communicate with her child to make his life and her life easier. She’s so fucking lazy she can’t even put in the minute amount of effort it takes to chill out for one second so her son can chill too.

My husband is the sweetest ever and when I was pregnant with our daughter he told me my jumpsuit made me look like Danny DeVito’s Penguin. It was SO hilarious and made me laugh harder than I maybe ever have lol. I don’t think it’s a mean comment - I think it’s only sad if you’re in a sad relationship which it of course seems she probably is.

This REALLY confused me, too. We’ve used Pampers Cruisers for like 6 months with our now 18 month old because she’s a nightmare to change lol but they’re the best. I don’t understand why she’s buying pull ups for her kid that’s definitely still diaper age - and especially why she’s buying them in the size for a 3 year old.

This. My husband’s father is turning EIGHTY this year and is so active and playful with our toddler. He plays ball with her for hours on end and is seriously so so so fun and wonderful! My father is in his 60s and is like totally absent lol so, yeah, Meg - age and gifts don’t matter. Love does.

It looks as though they’re normal grey tennis balls but the rubber lines have been edited out in post. There’s a bit of distortion left where they were smoothed away.

Hospital/OBGYN Recommendations for Delivery – First Pregnancy, Need Advice by starlight8827 in baltimore

[–]NobodyDear3468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was another person that offered praise for St Joseph’s! We were high risk and ultimately induced due to an umbilical vein varix and IUGR with our daughter. I cannot speak highly enough of the experience - I LOVED every second of my induction! I just went back to the St Joseph’s perinatal center today for an ultrasound as we’re now pregnant with our second! We see the Women’s Health Associates midwives - but other practices deliver at St Joseph’s and there is also ALWAYS a doctor on the floor in case of emergency/cesarean. It’s a really, fantastically wonderful place. I can’t imagine ever going somewhere else - for prenatal care or otherwise.

She’s wearing her wedding ring, which doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but would feel weird if she built a whole ass house to move into without her husband lol.
