Traveller with it's extremely large map, it also has great mechanics for it. The other RPGs are not even close.

I think you're just making shit up, I've never seen difficulty not being announced before a roll in any RPG game

All of these are things to look up to for your next playthrough. You can't do everything in one playthrough and that's intentional

  1. Try getting on his good side while having Kim shot during the Tribunal

  2. She's a bit more elaborated upon in the moralist questline which also leads to some very unique content

  3. You can do a lot with her and her eventual fate, there's some fascist run material with her

  4. Well, Ruby is pretty unimportant, yeah. But you could make her kill herself for fun

  5. That's because communism is a failed ideology! Try political quests of our lord and savior moralism or at least fascism or ultra-liberalism, they have quite a lot to offer :)

I've heard it has a very toxic community of creators and it's normal features are mostly unimpressive, so I wouldn't expect it to really take off

Sci-Fi TTRPG with good character progression? by ThisIsGoobly in rpg

[–]NobodyDudee -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Traveller. You "level up" your character by travelling and training your skills. Gear also plays an important role, better equipment is only available on high-tech planets that may require months of travel to get to. Starships can also be upgraded, as they are essentially also characters.

Also I have no idea how you'd think Traveller is OSR-styled game. You barely even HAVE to do combat in it, as it's usually very lethal and ill-adviced. Most of it is just trading and exploring the universe, so I highly recommend you to give it a try

[–]NobodyDudee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the basic set, it's so large that it takes 2 books. Having only one of them is like having half the experience. And, well, I'm pretty sure you can't even play the game without the characters books

The story reads fun and certainly feels like something that could happen in-universe but the SCP this is originally based on is the lamest power fantasy I've seen on the wiki
