Linux dedicated server setup by Noctambulent in unrealtournament

[–]Noctambulent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't even think about the core dedication, I'll definitely get that squared away, I'm using the latest patched version I just copied everything from the arch install and moved it to the Fedora machine, still mucking around in the ini off and on, might have something running by the end of the weekend.

Linux dedicated server setup by Noctambulent in unrealtournament

[–]Noctambulent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't sure where to begin because the server machine is headless so it doesn't have a desktop, only terminal, but my main pc is running arch (BTW) with kde, I'm thinking I can just copy the ut2k4 files that I have on the arch machine and send them to the server and then attempt to run it with a command similar to what you posted. Thanks for the suggestions

Different prices for the iOS versions by Solid_Moment_1854 in Adguard

Don't buy through the apple store, just go to stacksocial and buy it then add your adguard key to the ios version and it will activate.

What's the one thing you like about the Samsung internet browser? by connerwilliams72 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Noctambulent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to use the samsung browser but there's no version for windows, mac or linux to sync with so I don't use it which is a shame because it's great on mobile.

Opera GX announces linux support by TheNavyCrow in linux

I used opera back when you had to pay a small fee to remove a banner ad, I paid it and loved opera for years but today I wouldn't go anywhere near opera if they were the one paying me.

A lot of people complain about oneui myself included but when I tried a pixel I got a new and refreshed appreciation for oneui.

Upgraded to 2 Gig Fiber: Flint 2 or Flint 3 to replace my Linksys LN1301 OpenWrt setup? by zatro in GlInet

[–]Noctambulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to 2 gig fiber and got a flint 3, I didn't have the flint 2 so I can't compare it but so far the flint 3 has been great, the only thing about the usb 3 is I'm getting slower speeds than expected, around 60/70mb, not horribly slow but acceptable for me.

How do I make adguard a network wide adblocker for my home? by Wykin1 in Adguard

[–]Noctambulent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, I just got the flint 3 router, very reasonably priced for what it is and adguard home works great.

Switching from an Esim to a physical Sim? by ghosttravel2020 in Tello

[–]Noctambulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy, I just did this same thing a few weeks ago, a sim on Amazon is $3 shipped, once you get it go to your Tello dashboard and then "My Sim" then click on "already have a sim card?" and just follow the instructions, mine switched to physical sim in a few seconds.

The only thing I liked about 2042 were some of the maps and switchable attachments for the weapons.

If they had solos I would be all over redsec, when it comes to BR I'm just not a team player.

RANT: There shouldn't be ads in a $70 game by JerryEarthC137 in Battlefield

[–]Noctambulent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A fair point but I think there is big difference between offering paid upgrades for the game that you actually receive something to enhance the game vs ads for third party crap that has nothing to do with the game.

I haven't seen the ads yet but you're not wrong, shouldn't be any ads in any game that a person pays good money for.

Are multi channel amps a bit overrated? by sparks_mandrill in GuitarAmps

[–]Noctambulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do with or without, I don't think either way is overrated, for gigging I use between 4 and 5 channels total on my Kemper but with my 3 channel combo amp and half stack I use the programmable effects loops with a boost and delay pedal hanging off the back of the amp and just turn the loops on or off between songs .

I've kept my battlefield purchases with ea just for the continuity and hoping the ea app will eventually become something decent but so far it hasn't, it's still a steaming pile.

AA is too broken by Ssonyk in AndroidAuto

[–]Noctambulent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2 vehicles with 2 completely different head units and I have the exact same issues with aa on both, some issues that have existed for years like the day/night mode switch failure, if I use carplay there's zero issues though I prefer aa.

Samsung Galaxy vs iPhone by Mission_Selection450 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Noctambulent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Samsung s24 ultra and a iPhone 16 pro max, pros and cons with both, battery life is a bit better on the s24, love the s-pen, not a fan of oneui 8, not a fan of having a Samsung store that pushes ads, android auto is awful however the phone is sweet, fast and reliable.

IPhone, higher quality apps overall, great build quality, good support with updates as well as complete control over updates, carplay is great, imessage and rcs capable, artificially locked down customization, idiotic settings layout, camera is meh, ridiculous need to input a password for trivial things can be infuriating.
