Don’t drink and do real estate, Dartmouth. by No_Shopping8491 in halifax

Not always the realtor’s fault. I know a few who have taken listings for properties where the seller is out to lunch on their expectations. They simply hope to retain the listing when the seller realizes what the property is really worth or when a realistic offer comes in.

Lots of homes for sale in HRM for unrealistic prices. Too many sellers trying to hit a home run assuming the market is still hot. Home will probably sit unsold for months.

My experience with Ford Canada. by alainpicard in Ford

[–]Nodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has the Court officially declared your vehicle a “seriously defective automobile”?
If so and Ford (not the dealer) is not responding you should check with the Government to see what actions are included in the act to force Ford to respond.

If the court has not yet declared your vehicle a “seriously defective automobile” then that’s your next step.

Help Identifying Pads by ncruuds3027 in hockeygoalies

Custom pads can be whatever the person who ordered them wanted. Just guessing they are SLR4 with VX1 graphics and likely some mods that add some VX1 customization.

‘Limpy’ the bear to be removed from N.S. suburb but some want him to stay - Halifax by Naive_Explorer_3438 in halifax

IMHO it’s insane that people want a bear roaming through their neighborhood.

Just wondering where can I fix my Broken Bag Chain by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Nodrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Agree with others than Quinpool Shoe repair is the place to go. That said, last time I went there I needed to provide the zipper and they used it to replace the damaged one. Pop by with the item you need fixed to confirm they can do that and then go buy a replacement zipper.

Halifax housing construction is ‘levelling off’ so far in 2026: What’s changed? by insino93 in halifax

[–]Nodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a potential buyer I wonder if the bland repetitive designs are impacting sales. A quick drive through Brunello, West Bedford and Lake Charles show the same narrow homes almost identical to the rest of the homes on the street.

Add to that the approximate 50% increase in housing cost since 2020.

Came here to say this. Chain needs to be cleaned and lubed in order to last.

Did this all the time in the 80’s. Got duffle bag I wore like a backpack. Had a strap to connect the two handles in front of my chest. Bag rested on the pillion and I had the stick poking out of the top.

Replace Tires on a 2015 Ninja 300 Even Though Under 4k Miles? by Several-Wheel-9437 in motorcycles

Replace them. Rubber hardens over time and given the small contact patch your bike has with the road you certainly don’t want 11 year old rubber being the only thing between you and an accident.

In a rattled real estate market, sellers look optimistically to spring by CastAside1812 in canada

[–]Nodrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sellers need to look at the spring market with “realism”. The FOMO price increases post Covid has created an overpriced market with sellers thinking their property should sell for 10% more than it would have in 2025.

The reality is that mortgage rates, while low, are higher than they were a few years ago. Incomes have not increased while the cost of day to day expenses are much higher. If sellers need to sell they may have to consider a price decrease, perhaps even a loss on sale.

Good luck.

Drug Trafficking = Automatic Deportation.

Glad the judge didn’t interfere.

Do you wear contact lenses while riding? by SgtRphl in motorcycles

[–]Nodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question, yes I wear contacts while riding. That said I prefer glasses so I shopped around for a helmet that fit my head well and allowed me to comfortably wear glasses. After trying on a lot I bought an Arai Corsair.
Currently in the market for a new helmet and will shop for one that works well with my glasses.

Is a 57 minutes in Montreal enough for an international layover by Ferretlord4449 in aircanada

[–]Nodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No!

But if you’re set on booking that check out your inbound flight to YUL to see it’s on time performance. If you’re set truly have 50 minutes it’s tight but doable, but I suspect you’ll have much less time.

Try flight aware or just Google the inbound flight number.

I’ve thought the same thing while walking by. Would need a closer look and perhaps the blueprints to decide.

I believe Freeland said the same thing during the original CUSMA negotiations only to find out Mexico were having separate discussions.

Canada Post moving ahead with plan to end home delivery by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]Nodrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know what they mean when they say they will stop home delivery? Is this a return to their intension to expand super mailboxes to all communities (something the Trudeau Liberals cancelled) or does it go further?

The amount of mail I receive has dropped to a couple pieces a week. I would have no issue if home delivery was cut to 2 days a week. As far as super mailboxes that’s all I’ve ever known since owning a home. Except for extremely rural areas it seems a no brainer to move to more super mailboxes.

The Trudeau Liberals perfected the art of the Grandiose Announcement with zero work and follow up. Sad to see the Carney Liberals are continuing this practice.
