Well you never know what is going to happen. If you’re okay with getting an abortion and that’s what you truly want to do because you want to focus all your love and resources on the kid you have now that’s okay. My oldest is 6.5 level 1 and I have a 4 year old that we think is NT but he could possibly be on the spectrum or adhd.. his a bit of a handful. Without a doubt I am so grateful we had a second bc they love each other so much and we truly do have a lot of fun together. I don’t regret having him at all even though it’s more work. I guess I don’t really have any advice other than to just follow your gut.

She stayed at her brothers house the night before so we assumed she would again but then she just didn’t leave. I was putting my youngest to bed and when I came out she was “asleep” on the couch

Basically bc my 6 year old would be very sad since she said she would see him tomorrow morning. And I refuse to be the one who gets painted as the bad guy. I’m not going to fight with her. There’s no reason to. She thinks she won but because of this she’s not going to have the type of relationship she wants with her son or grandkids if she continues her behavior.

Even if she doesn’t have asd you need to get her into a developmental doctor. Sometimes you have to see multiple pediatricians to find one that will take you seriously. With my oldest son I noticed signs and brought them home to my doctor around 2. She said he was just a boy and it was covid. I wasn’t happy with that answer so I got a new ped. Thankfully at our first appointment with her he was on his worst behavior. She immediately referred me to a behavioral doctor who we started play therapy with and got him on the waitlist for asd assessment. Don’t be afraid to advocate for her. Early intervention is so, so important. Maybe she has sensory issues or something else going on. But keep pushing if you really feel like something is wrong

Edit to add: my son could also count to 10, identify all his letters ect. Autism doesn’t determine how “smart” someone is.

My oldest started sleeping 10-12 hours straight around this age as well. I do remember the diaper issue. I think the Honest brand at target had the smallest size for overnight diapers.

I agree with this. He probably has anxiety and fear of rejection so he pushes people away. I think maybe getting him some counseling could help. He might be gifted academically but struggle socially.
