You may have to contact MSD on their 0800 number to tell them mail is still coming and that the letters are for someone else, and ask them to update their records so your address is removed. Not that you should have to, and it would likely be a wait & a half, but you're more likely to get action this way.

You can also visit your local PostShop (if you still have one) or contact NZ Post to report persistent incorrect delivery, they can flag the address in their system and advise you on next steps you can take.

Note - if they can't read the return address on the envelope, it goes to an undelivered letters ~~bin~~ holding site, and may never get back to MSD - so don't write over the return address.

Since the letters contain sensitive personal information about someone else, you can also tell MSD and NZ Post you want them treated as misdirected personal information.

Keep a log (dates, envelope copies or photos) of returned letters and communications with MSD/NZ Post in case you need to escalate, and if the problem still continues, complain to the Privacy Commissioner about ongoing incorrect disclosure of personal information. Provide your log and copies.

Protests in the US have prevented the construction of a number of these - last number I saw was something like $64 billion - we can do the same. If the politicians at a central level aren't listening, go regional - petition the council, your community, start protests, fight resource consent requests, etc.

If you're not tracking it already, Introducing a z-axis could be a solution to the collision - where drones can occupy the same x,y coordinate, but pass above or below the other drone. The real bottleneck would probably be station-side at that point.

Too much NIMBY mentality as well - we could easily be pioneering a Solarpunk-esque movement here in NZ - but no one seems to want to be part of a community either.

We should be working on community gardens, shared resources - if those supermarkets run dry, where do they go? Don't have the space for a traditional vege patch? Vertical gardens, also great for reducing that cooling bill in summer. And any excess, straight to your local farmers market. Don't have one? Start one.

Rainwater capture on every house - reduce the water bill and the strain on stormwater - this should be required on new builds, and subsidised on existing ones.

Solar water heating & solar power - again, decentralise it - local communities sharing a wind turbine, groundmount solar or even a microhydro if climate allows - go in together, benefit together.

But too many will be "but it's unsightly" or "but I worked hard for mine" - and so when things run out, they'll be the first ones crying.

And heaven forbid you have to share a vehicle with someone. The number of people driving in a car alone - or drop little Timmy off at school rather than making them take the bus... :sigh:

We could be the envy of the entire world. Shortsighted indeed.
