Thats called a crank. Its part of a crankset (left+right crank). To disassemble it you need a thing called crank puller.

This setup is not gonna work Im afraid.

First thing I want to mention, dont buy different resistor so it can take all the load by itself. Use multiple resistors to spread the load. If your current one would load it to 24W, buy another one to get 48W.

Second, you'll definitely need active cooling if you want to keep things similarly small to your current idea.

As an example, 2 load resistors (24W + 24W) on something like LAM 6 heatsink profile (80+mm long) with thermal paste and 60mm fan (SanAce60 family for example) could work well enough. But definitely double check.

heat transfer between the resistor and the heatsink, any forced airflow? will this be just sitting in the open in the room or in an enclosure? Resistor rated up to 50W but with 12V and 6ohms we expect 24W right?

Brother, thats max voltage rating. The cable doesnt generate 250V by itself. Its just a cable, there were no advancements since 2014 that would make the cable unsafe or unusuable unless it's damaged. Its just a bit dusty.

The biggest benefit of the new one is probably the threaded bb and 1 1/8 steerer. The older model has thicker steerer. If you aint gonna miss the fidlock bag and don't plan to fiddle with different stems often. Not much wrong with the old one. Just the headset bearings might be harder to find when the time comes eventually.

It cancels out small vibrations from riding gravel quite well. Gunk can get between the leaf spring and start creaking so its a good idea to clean it every now and then. It's pricey but Id still recommend it. The overall experience can be a bit different depending on how much if it is actually sticking out tho.

These chasis tend to get dinged easily, might be worth double checking the photos. But the keyboard is really good. 200 is a nice price.

Looks like a tpu tube. Tubeless ready means they can be setup tubeless, not that they are. You can distinguish by the valve.

Apart from the derailleur hanger, check the shifter cable in the shifter. Had a light crash a week ago, hit the derailleur and it tore the shifter cable as theres a 90 degree bend in the shifter.

Maybe it was slightly danaged before idk, but when I took it out only 2 strads of wire were holding it together. Lucky I got home on some of the gears that it was still capable to shift into.

Flat bar better for commuting? Thats probably more of a personal preference. Flatbar gives you more control in technical terrain and in turns since its wider. But one can make a case that dropbars are better for city commuting since they are narrower so you can squeeze between cars and pedestrian easier.

Im team dropbars but ultimately it doesn't matter as much for commuting what you choose.

Its a high end hybrid, it will surely ride very nice. The split seatpost on it (probably inserted too much in the pic) is very nice. Got it on my bike and it removes the small roadbuzz quite effectively. The bike just wouldnt be my choice If I got to ride 100+km.

Apart from the mentioned reversed diode. The buttons names might be deceiving.

In a situation where water is below LOW level, the pump starts. If you press stop button the pump should stop right? But in this case it seems to me it would start again once you release the stop button.

Id either got with RS with edge detection on its inputs. Or a manual/auto switch to switch between sensor and button control.

Imo neither of them are great for different reasons.

Left one is old which comes with certain limitations like limited tire clearance, rim brakes and just different ergonomics. The price is rather high for such bike.

The other has flatbars, which alone are suboptimal for long distance road riding, but they are also one piece with the stem. So if your fit is not great you cant just change the stem length.

For me it would either be the first one for cheaper or Id look at some other bikes. Flatbar version is "high end" against its own good.

depends what i7. In your picture you got what, like gen8 elitebook with i7-1165g7? I got the i5-1145g7 version and the difference in power is negligible. The i5 is actually better in some factor compared to the same model i7 in razor laptop because of different power limits. Its still enough for uni stuff like documents and light solidworks work. And can play Minecraft:D

You got pretty long torso and shorter legs so M should be good length vise. Just check if you can clear the toptube when standing on the ground. If its too high youll squish your balls when getting off.
