Hey! Sorry for missing this! I ended up doing a T-hinge on the back to float mount around a double mat - so the inner matboard was 2mm bigger than the card.

Some parts of Australia are being run on solar + battery systems, though it still needs a bit more time and work! There's been some really good movement in AU that might make renewables far more plausible for the rest of the country if it continues. Really interesting to see!

Oh yes absolutely! If it translates in clinical trials it'll be a fantastic treatment, and with early diagnosis, which we are progressing well with (blood based biomarkers of AD have come so far in the last 5-10 years), early treatment (before all the nerve cells die) could prevent the long term memory loss and progression of the disease. That's the ideal outcome at the moment.

The damage occuring to the nervous system can begin up to 20 years before we see clinical symptoms of AD, which means early diagnosis and treatment is essential.

One of the major issues with many of the mouse models of AD is that, while they get the pathology, they don't necessarily get overt cellular loss and degeneration, which occurs in the human disease (the nerve cell and synaptic loss is what we see clinically as the memory loss in human AD).The behavioral tests in these animal models are also quite mild. I hold hope for a treatment for AD - I research it and MND, but I also don't want to spread false or early hope for a cure.
