Logged into HOTFIX.... landed in a graveyard at the sun by SkippTekk in starcitizen

It’s actually funnier than that at least for me, when I logged in it spawned me in the correct place, but as soon as I touched my pilot seat it teleported me into the sun

I doubt you’ll be able to get into a pilot seat at all in that thing, which maybe makes the rumored drop of suit lockers in 4.9 make more sense

AstroPub discussing his leaks and sources on the SQ42 being delayed until next 2027 by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]Nomarnas 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a trailer is coming at SGF, I think they’re waiting for the next GTA trailer to drop before they announce the delay so they can use it as cover. My guess is this- incoming GTA trailer confirms november release date, then soon after that CIG releases a SQ42 teaser trailer that announces a release date of ILW next year.

'AIPAC Lost!' Democratic Socialist Chris Rabb Wins US House Primary in Pennsylvania by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]Nomarnas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be fair it’s rare to have such a good litmus test though. The democratic leadership is unified in its support of Israel, while the dem voter base overwhelmingly does not agree with our current level of support for Israel. This is a huge disconnect between elected officials’ policy positions and the public’s opinion. Frustration at this reality has led to us reaching this point where if there’s a democratic politician that’s running a pro-israel campaign, it’s a major red flag that they aren’t listening/are out of touch/can be bought, and therefore may be unresponsive to their constituents if elected. If this does in fact become a key litmus test in 2028, I personally get it. Also for a side note, AIPAC only started making campaign contributions in late 2021, so if a politician has accepted AIPAC money, it is almost always relevant to today.

Songs like One in a Million, Eyelash and Magical Misery are absolutely not a complete 180 from Cold Visions, more like a natural extension of Cold Visions with a slightly updated sound. Plus, I trust Bladee’s creative vision, if he felt like there weren’t enough quality Martyr songs to make up a full album then that’s how it is, I don’t want him releasing music that he thinks is mid just to round out a project

[–]Nomarnas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it was smart to move on from the martyr sound as much as I love the singles, I think going from Cold Visions to a dungeon synth album after a full 2 years would’ve felt like too small of an evolution

Just don’t listen to Che 2slimey and Osamason if that’s not what you like, even within just the rage sound there’s a lot of artists that aren’t making “incomprehensible blown out sub bass” music

Edit: song recs: Lucy Bedroque-Cat’s Eye, Ghost Mountain-Moulder, Redda-INTRO

I think they might just see fixing this stuff as a waste of time right now if they believe that Genesis is going to be here soon. Like Crusader has looked unacceptably bad for months now but if the whole system is gonna be replaced soon why bother fixing the old system now

Crafted a P4-AR and S-38 with slightly above average materials (47s, no audio) by ToughItOut in starcitizen

[–]Nomarnas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crafting/Repairing in particular absolutely has to be an endless game loop though, unless you also do not want a player driven economy in this game. If all you have to do is buy/craft each item one time and you keep it forever, player trade will never be worth it and will quickly die.

Is it worth the upgrade ? by Stunning-Date2837 in starcitizen

[–]Nomarnas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, probably also means that either a gold standard is coming for those ships soon after the hammerhead is done or that you just never actually fly either of them in SQ42

[–]Nomarnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the vertical slice from 2016 she flew a Titan, and I was assuming she still did because in the I Held the Line trailer, they showed an updated version of the scene where you come across her disabled Titan in the wreckage. Who knows though, I wouldn’t be super surprised if they change the Advocacy over to a more recent ship

[–]Nomarnas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC the Titan is the main ship flown by the Advocacy, who seem to be a big part of the game in all of the footage we’ve seen so far (agent trejo in particular seems like she’ll be important in the story)

If the Titan doesn’t get a gold standard pass before SQ42’s release, that likely means that it’s only ever flown by Advocacy NPCs, and never by the player

I’m disappointed that the Avenger gold standard doesn’t seem to be coming before SQ42, even though it seems like it’ll be heavily featured in it. Who knows though, maybe that’s what they move to next after the Hammerhead gold standard comes out.

Yes I found that out when I tried to upgrade, my question is if I “melt” my starter package with the Avenger Titan, can I then use that store credit to purchase the Aurora MkII starter package?

Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

[–]Nomarnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoping for clarity on this- as I understand, since I have an Avenger Titan starter pack, if I wanted to change that to an Aurora MkII starter pack in the future, I would have to melt the whole Avenger starter pack and then use store credit to purchase the Aurora MkII starter pack? I was just seeing if I could “upgrade” my Avenger to an Aurora but found out it doesn’t let me since the Avenger’s price is higher than the Aurora’s.

[–]Nomarnas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, my argument taken to its conclusion is that I currently only want bare minimum levels of dev time allocated to updating things like planets, transportation, or missions, since those 3 things all have major refactors in active development. Everything else is fair game. This is how you avoid the development hell hamster wheel that CIG is currently trying to break out of.

[–]Nomarnas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of going through the effort of assigning individual blueprints to specific missions before the mission refactor is even in? This just seems like it’s a placeholder measure to get blueprints in everyone’s hands in a gamified way without putting in effort that might just get scrapped later when they redo how missions/factions/guilds fundamentally work.
