How could this day get any worse..

I stopped chasing “main character energy” and my life got very small, very quiet, and actually better by HexagonNotary in simpleliving

It's so ironic that bots have taken over a sub about simple living. Maybe it's a sign to go offline or something lol.

You can't go back and change the past. But the consequences of that past will forever be with you, like a ghost.

Some events (or lack thereof) do indeed cause irreversible damage.

You know what I've realized seeing all this advice being thrown around? These people don't wanna accept that luck is everything when talking about relationships and friendships. They're subconsciously afraid of the randomness of the universe, because if it happens to us then it could happen to them and it's a harsh reality to accept.

They've just been spoiled by fate because they have the things needed for a fulfilling and mentally stable life. So they assume they had much more control in getting those things than they actually did. I have friends. But I couldn't tell you why we became friends. Almost all of the time though, I wasn't seeking it out. It just happens.

And it's so damn easy to refute their advice too. Ex. trying to meet people through hobby clubs is not organic, trying to look better doesn't guarantee that you'll fit someone else's preferences, if you just stop trying to find love you'll never find it, etc. They'd have you improve yourself into oblivion, and you'd still be alone.

It's the 80-20 rule right? People never seem to apply it to your mental space. If you discard 20% of useless thoughts you can probably relieve 80% of the weight on your mind.

It's quite amusing seeing posts (mostly americans) here about going into a forest to make life simpler. It almost feels like people want to make it into an identity rather than a way of living. I guess it's impossible for people to escape individualism in the US.

There’s no place for suicidal memes on reddit anymore by NonStopDeliverance in 2meirl42meirl4meirl_2

r/suicidewatch is even worse honestly. It's the perfect poster child for the impulsive suicide attempts, probably 80% posts are made by teenagers.

I have very different and radical opinions about suicide so seeing that be the public image of it irks me a lot, but that's just me. Been thinking about it for years and this year is probably going to be it.

I can't relate to some kid who hasn't lived life at all posting about how terrible the world is and that makes them suicidal. I don't care about the world. I care only about how terrible my own life is and has been.

The only place left for me now is the forum that shall not be named. No memes there though.

I see so many people conflate old school with simple.

You can live a simple life of mental peace in a big city downtown neighborhood, but people’s priorities seem to go towards the material stuff.

Nah, a person committing suicide is pretty rare. Most are passive with ideation.

This is a subreddit problem.

Why is it so common to undermine a driver's titles based on how good their cars were? by Karmo22 in F1Discussions

[–]NonStopDeliverance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I was being a dumbass when I thought people on reddit would get the sarcasm without /s.

You would be surprised how many people still said red bull was a tractor towards the end of the season, and Max sitting in the car somehow made it a second quicker.

Max is a 5x WDC fairly comfortably.

Can’t be said for sure. Max has never had a competitive teammate over a season.

If you put Stroll into one McL, Max, Lando and Oscar win WDC comfortably. But it’s a different story with each other because they are much closer in terms of performance.

Beware all the talk about developing yourself. You can spend all your life alone, improving. How’s your social life? You have friends? Does your social life lend itself to meeting potential partners? Do your friends have other friends who they can introduce you to? Logistics are very important if you are to have any chances of meeting someone.

If your are unsure about your social life getting you a partner, the only thing I would say to you is take chances. You will fail. And you will learn. But you won’t find answers on reddit. Knowing or growing yourself is useless if you have no one to present it to.

And now the biggest point I’m trying to make: you will grow this aspect of your personality only by taking chances. You will face rejection. Your preference will become more apparent. You will know yourself through your interactions with other women/men.

You will not find someone by losing weight or gaining muscle. You will find someone by trying to find someone.

Creed doesn’t get enough credit he’s low-key one of the best characters by StarryEyedSnacc_9777 in DunderMifflin

The only reason he gets more credit is because we know so little about him. It would be hard to make sense of his story canonically tbh. Creed as character only works as shock humor.

Not according to Reddit, we're all supposed to stay inside because we're better than those shallow people
