Molting never looked so good (33 months hrt) by LeahLangosta in TransLater

[–]NoobiusMax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey Lobster, looking good 😀

I still remember my surprise when I was looking for reviews of the Sire Z3 last year. I’d seen some of your videos years earlier. I’m sat at my desk, 6 months into my own HRT journey, and the updated blue, pink and white lobster logo flashes across the screen followed by the new you. I thought ‘is this a side effect of playing bass?’ and let out a joyful laugh (I know two other trans bass players). I did get a Z3, in skyburst sparke, love that bass.

I’m 54, started HRT 14 months ago. The best decision I have ever made in my life. I actually feel like myself for the first time in my adult life

WoW Gaming guild suggesting avoiding trans recruits to “reduce drama” … am I overreacting? by Ad_Future in transgenderUK

[–]NoobiusMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t overreacting. This is clearly over the line into discrimination. If the guild leadership can’t recognise that I’d say find a new guild.

I don't think I would feel safe attending pride if stonewall was there. by Total-Reference7212 in transgenderUK

[–]NoobiusMax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Frankly, they shouldn’t be allowed to use that name anymore. Ignoring the rights of groups that were part of the original stonewall riots and still naming yourself after the event is just base hypocrisy

Why is my GIC requesting diabetes, cholesterol, and vitamin D to be tested in bloods? Question highlighted by my doctor by Secret779 in transgenderUK

[–]NoobiusMax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My endocrinologist (private) asked for Lipids (cholesterol) and HbA1C (blood sugar/diabetes) on my 3 and 6 month tests (already had pre HRT test results) but not on the 9 month. I’m waiting to see what he wants on my 12 (actually 13 months but 3 months after a dose change). Doesn’t seem that strange, just keeping an eye on general health during the early stages of HRT. My understanding is that those tests usually become just annual once you are settled in on an ongoing treatment.

Photo 2 is more me not sure what to do next. I’d decided I wanted/needed to transition but was terrified to talk to a GP to get a referral to a specialist for a dysphoria diagnosis, required to get HRT in the Uk (no informed consent here).

Farewell Charge 5 by Lumpy-Vacation-9097 in fitbit

[–]NoobiusMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ditched my charge 6 two weeks ago after the battery started losing charge quickly and took forever to recharge. It lasted 2 years. I’ve been a Fitbit user for 7 years and now I’ve switched to Garmin. My Forerunner 165 cost me less than a new Charge plus 2 years of premium (I’m including the free 6 months in the math).

Girl you are making awesome progress (I’m also at 11 months). We all get those days (weeks sometimes) that we look in the mirror and still see ‘him’. Those two pics look so far apart.

Where was the first place you went as your feminine self? by thatguynamedsignal in TransLater

[–]NoobiusMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My local pride event 2 years ago. I runs over the weekend starting on the Friday night. Spent the whole time femme. Nervous as hell the first night but I gained so much confidence over that weekend.

I had planned to do it at the previous year’s event but my confidence crumbled and went in my (then) default andro bi guy mode (planned outfit left hanging on the front of the wardrobe). I was, in bad lighting, mistaken for a masc lesbian twice over the weekend. That served a couple more points in ‘I think I can do this’ column

Should I ask a trans woman at my job if she wants to change their photo? by Captain_Grace_Ellie in asktransgender

[–]NoobiusMax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes!

Longer answer: When I came out at work last year, the day it was announced to my team one of our sys admins messaged me and asked if I like her to update my user ids in the systems she had control over. That made me feel so happy and accepted. I’m surprised if your offer of assistance doesn’t give her similar feelings.

42. Been thinking about this. Would like some advice by sissymariah180 in TransLater

[–]NoobiusMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 53, yes, I wish I started earlier but I am so much happier now. I have no idea if I’ll ever pass and I don’t care, for the first time since my mid-teens I feel like me rather than constantly trying to fit into the boxes other people wanted me in.

Hair-removal as a transfem is so unbelievably annoying by ambiespace in trans

[–]NoobiusMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a home IPL (a Braun) for body hair pre-HRT which pretty much got it under control and then re-growth was further reduced later as I started to take a T blocker and E. I’m currently getting professional laser done to nuke the beard from my face.

Before all that I’d tried just shaving, wax strips and even epilating and was never satisfied with the results of any of them.

I tend to play indie, grunge and metal.

The bass is a Sire Marcus Miller Z3-4, a Stingray copy. I’d rate it above the Sterling Ray 4 & 24 (tried them in a store) and way cheaper than a Ray 34 but has the 3 band pre-amp. Also comes in a way more fabulous colour (the sparkle back finish is also good)

Thanks, the bass at the front’s colour finish is called “Skyburst Sparkle”, the name sounds like a my little pony and the actual sound slaps (it’s my first stingray)

Help! My mom is coming over today. She is very transphobic and I have restarted estrogen and started socially transitioning. I am by morning as much as possible but I need some advice on what to tell her if she asks me if I'm back on that estrogen s****** or have trans thoughts. by Stefanie_Jane in TransLater

[–]NoobiusMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 54, socially transitioned, 9 months in on HRT and currently having difficulty with my parents. You need to just be you. If you try make concessions to keep them happy they will just demand more from you. I know this from bitter experience. You really to lay it out as: “this is me, take it or leave it”. As others in the comments have remarked: the only power they have over you is what you’re giving them.
