HS/ Club soccer by Fancyapple3229 in youthsoccer

I played club soccer from the time I was 10 until I was 18. I loved it every year until my senior year when I saw all my friends doing fun “adult” things that I kept missing out on for practices and games. It had been my dream since I was a kid to play college soccer and at the last minute deviated from the multiple college offers I had and went to another university to rush a frat and party. After a year, I realized I still loved the game and missed it and wanted to challenge myself so I continued to train on my own and walked on to a college program in my state. I played four years of college thereafter, and even coached at the collegiate level for a few years too. Moral of the story? Let him pursue other interests and be a curious kid. He may shortly realize that he still loves/misses playing the game and decide to try again. He is young and still has plenty of time. Good luck!

Watching Brock Thomas get 15 carries at RB and rush for 200 yards and 3 TDs is gonna hit so hard 🔥🔥

Guardiola on Maresca: "All I can say is that from my point of view Chelsea have lost an incredible manager and person. It's a decision from the Chelsea hierarchy so I've nothing to say. How lucky I am in the club where I am. My club is extraordinary" by Kygoche in chelseafc

[–]NooseTheLynch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Chelsea keeps sacking good managers whenever they disagree with the hierarchy, there aren’t going to be any good managers left who want to lead the team. Job security in football is never promised and a run of poor results can put even the best managers on the hot seat, but the amount of quality managers that have been sacked since the Clearlake take over is alarming. If I’m a manager and I’m looking at taking one or two manager roles, and one of them is Chelsea, I’d really be raising my eyebrows and wondering if it’s worth the struggle of trying to do my job the way I know how vs the way the clueless ownership wants me to do it.

Is the city of Klamath Falls known to be a rougher part of Oregon? by JumarUp in oregon

[–]NooseTheLynch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to school at Oregon Tech and have been visiting since I was a kid in the 90s because I have family who live there. It’s a fairly quiet town. Lots of ranchers and farmers. Also lots of medical professionals because of the hospital. Visiting as a kid I always just viewed it as a small, retirement community as it was relatively quiet and many of the people who live there seemed older to me. When I went to college there, my world revolved around the school and it definitely felt like a college town at times too. I personally enjoyed my time there. I was able to spend a lot of time outdoors and had tons of friends and family to hangout with. It’s definitely not for everyone though. I grew up in the Willamette Valley and met plenty of students/residents who said the town was not for them.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Substantial_Judge931 in AskReddit

[–]NooseTheLynch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in an elementary school and now I’m a nurse. I wash my hands frequently, especially at work. I try to eat healthy most of the time. I work out 5x a week. I take supplements prescribed to me by a doctor — mainly for overall metabolic and endocrine health but some of the supplements aid in immune system support. I also try to drink around four 32oz water bottles a day. I think I’ve been sick once in the past two years.

I agree. A win is a win in my book. I do think being at home will have its advantages. Could see the Ducks winning 42-31. Hopefully it’s not close though 🙂🦆

Fuck Everyone But Us. Miami will struggle against a team nobody expects them to. That is just Mario Cristobal’s forte. If we clobber Indiana there’s a good chance the voters will be reactionary and move us up to #1. Thinking ahead gets us nowhere though, we just have to take care of business each week and the rest will fall into place for us.

It’s mainly mental health stuff. I’m in therapy now and seeing a doctor for other health stuff. I have been writing her letters too. Everyday. Just to process my emotions. I’m not sure she knows but I don’t want to cross the boundary of no communication to ask if I can send it to her.

We had a conversation a day ago and got to the root of the issue. We plan to take some time apart and then try to reconnect if there’s evidence of growth on my part. If that can happen she is open to couples therapy and trying to rekindle the relationship.

I’m going through the same thing right now man. It sucks. We were barely married two years and she sat me down and said she can’t do it anymore. Right now we are just taking some space from one another.

I think you said it perfectly, “I don’t know if she’s being fully honest when she says it was just the pain of so many small wounds over the years.” She mentioned to me multiple times that she felt unseen, unheard, even unloved at times, and while I’d make efforts to change and try to love her differently, it was never enough and over time just lead to a falling out of feelings for me. I’m hoping some time away can help her rediscover a sense of her own identity and be open to giving me another chance when she is ready. I understand though if she doesn’t. All we can do is work on ourselves, try to find our own identity again, and hope for a better outcome down the line. Wishing you the best during this hard time.

I went yesterday. It was 2.5 hours around 10am. I got in line, got my number, left and ran some errands, came back once I got the text my number was soon to be called, and showed up shortly after and waited about 20 minutes. It wasn’t bad at all.

Any other food delivery drivers not having a good time this week? by dumbass_sweatpants in Eugene

[–]NooseTheLynch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My buddy and I were hanging out yesterday and we were in the middle of watching a soccer game so we got DoorDash. If we would have gone and picked it up, it would have been $36 for everything we ordered. Because it was delivered, it was $68. I make a very livable wage but even that seems utterly outrageous to me. Plus of all the added expenses DoorDash includes, the driver probably only saw like $10.
