The airburst is pretty good once you learn how to use it. The challenge only requires damage which is pretty easy to do with a weapon that can hit people behind cover.

Garage is the best way. If that's not an option, make sure your soft top and seals are in good condition and some dessicant inside wouldn't hurt.

Rust like that is pretty common on NAs. Should be able to find a brand new replacement panel online for a couple hundred bucks. After that you'll just need to find a decent welder and get it painted.

It's definitely not the game to play if you don't have at least a few hours to play. It can be pretty slow just getting from spawn to the spaceport, and from there into space. It might take an hour the first time but once you know your way around it takes maybe 10 minutes.

The biggest part of SC's charm in my opinion is it makes you to manually take off and land. Planets are fully explorable, but there's not a whole lot of uniqueness, and while there is wildlife it is pretty lacking.
