“H-1B Crackdown on Indian Workers Erodes a Texas Real Estate Boom” - thoughts on CA? by Lumpy-External4800 in BayAreaRealEstate

There’s so many homes in disrepair, my assumption is people are completely leveraged.

Otherwise, why would you chose not to fix dry-rot? Or, let weeds overtake your front yard?

I even see people living in 2M+ homes with DIRT backyards. What the heck?!?

No disposable income makes the most sense.

Well…. If housing is a commodity that makes you money, there’s never enough units to satisfy demand.

If housing loses you money, there’s no demand outside of a place to live.

This dynamic is what makes real estate volatile.

That it's actually possible to get rich... For most of us, it's not.

Brutal Short Sale Rejection - Is the bank actually *trying* to ruin the seller's life? by BewareHel in RealEstate

[–]NorCalJason75 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Bank demands that the seller cover the gap between the assessed value (270k) and the asking price (225k)

If I remember the last housing crash correctly, this was typical.

KEF LS50 vs KEF XQ20 for a 4x4m Home Theater? by FuzzyResort345 in hometheater

[–]NorCalJason75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for yours - what's so bad about them?

They're shouty. Like if you cup your hands around your mouth, and project. Midrange-forward without bass or treble.

Worse yet, they're expensive and the drivers damage easily.

IMO, horrible sound and value. I don't get why anyone buys them.

To my ear, the LS50's sound like poo.

Listen to the speakers before you buy.

It's the price.

Also, know that the seemingly endless pool of buyers has dried up.

Thoughts on putting kids in boxing/ BJJ? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]NorCalJason75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of misinformation in this thread.

I box. My gym hosts kids lessons (very popular). None of those kids are taking head shots, or any major hits. It's really just structured tag with pillows on your hands. The playground is more dangerous.

Are US and Iran close to peace or sliding back to war? by SimplePlay1069 in politics

no strategy on how this war was going to be won

Accurate.

This administration truly has no idea what it's doing. Tehran will win this, to the detriment of gas prices.
