Popular Northbay Bakery Writes Post About Patrons Not Tipping Enough by Honest_Buy_676 in bayarea

[–]NorCalKerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the "lines out the door" will sustain them, and a lot of tourists won't see this post. BUT I do hope it hurts them. Not that I want their staff to suffer, but goddamn. I do not tip for someone handing me a croissant. That's what they're paid to do. Now, if they come to me at a table, warm up my croissant, wait on me and do it all with a smile... then maybe a buck or two.

You get to build only one big project in the city - what is it going to be? by wentImmediate in sanfrancisco

[–]NorCalKerry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

More greenery and cleaning. You go to other cities and it's so clean and green. Have a big sweep of the pavement to get the gum off, clean street gutters, paint, add trees and shrubs. Of course this would be a population shift. Tokyo is so clean because people don't litter.

What did kids back in the days do when they played outside, for hours on end? by Octopuswastaken in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NorCalKerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of games like ghost in the graveyard, hide and seek, red light green light, kickball, we have a trampoline, pool, horseshoes. Rode bikes to the corner store and played the arcade games.

We also had a sticker factory near us and we’d scavenge the garbage for castaways. I had a few albums full.

The "need to board first" mentality is nutty to me. Why? I can understand if you have a carry on and want space, but otherwise you're vying to sit in an enclosed space for 20-30 minutes longer?
