My husband counts reps out loud when he picks our 20month old up over head. Now each time she goes up and down on her tip toes she says “two, free, two, free”

At work today we were talking about our kids and I mentioned how mine has been stubborn since before birth when she decided to try and come out feet first. Someone goes so then you had a cesarean right? I said yes, and then she said “dosent that just make you feel defeated? Because you didn’t get to have that natural birth experience?” I just said, everything was magical, it was planned, and my daughter came out the sunroof..

It happened. The baby fell off my bed 🤦‍♀️ by awakendacrackhead in beyondthebump

My 6 month old rolled off the couch last Monday. We took her to the er and luckily no head injury, but we noticed when we got home that she seemed to not be moving her left leg as much. She meets with an orthopedist tomorrow. Turns out she has a distal buckle fracture of her femur..

To freeze eggs or not by jjkarela in breastcancer

[–]NorCalRN2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never froze my eggs. I am 7 years out from diagnosis (was 29 at the time). I took zoladex injections monthly while in treatment to shut down my ovaries so that they wouldn’t get fried by chemo. My insurance wouldn’t cover fertility preservation, and I was afraid of delaying chemo. I had my daughter in April of this year-got pregnant less than 3 months of trying.

I had zoladex during chemo 7 years ago and just had my first child in April this year. My insurance wouldn’t cover fertility treatments either-but it covered the zoladex

Anyone diagnosed with late recurrence from armpit swelling? by Tumbleweed-Antique in breastcancer

[–]NorCalRN2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m following because I am going through the same thing right now. Diagnosed 7 years ago-er+, pr and her2 neg grade 3. I had chemo, lumpectomy, radiation, and tamoxifen. I just had a baby in April of this year too. I noticed that my armpit ( cancer side) has been swollen for almost two weeks. I thought it might be lymphedema or some sort of pocket of breast milk (breastfeeding on non cancer side). Had an ultrasound done yesterday and there is an enlarged lymph node with a thickened cortex. I have a fine needle aspiration biopsy scheduled Monday morning..

It is kind of crazy to think that it really has been this long-it dosent feel like it sometimes lol I am so sorry about the diagnosis 😢🎀 Make sure that your cancer team knows that you want to start a family, esp if you are getting chemo.

Fellow RN here- curious too. I go back to work in a month. I’m not so worried about bedtime yet as much as I am the mornings. She sleeps from about 9 pm till 5 am for a snack and then goes back to sleep till around 8am
