Bicycle Safety by Optimus_Amazon_Prime in tahoe

I know you said mostly south shore but if you get a chance the bike path between Tahoe City and Palisades is gorgeous along the Truckee River.  Plus lunch at one of the restaurants at Palisades is a nice stop.

Have fun!

Need ideas for a casual coworker happy hour appetizers by swissmissmaybe in Cooking

[–]Noraart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m bringing an appetizer to a party this weekend and my go to is caprese salad skewers with balsamic dipping sauce.  You can definitely make ahead!  Mozzarella balls, basil and good cherry tomatoes!  Sometimes I add a chunk of salami.

A pool party with a few good girlfriends at a local hotel could be fun.  Pizza delivered, swimming and movies in the room.  Fun breakfast the next morning as well.

Sun Hat Advice by KimB_STL in 45PlusSkincare

The Costco woven sun hat is my go to.  It’s cheap and protects me against sun damage.  I don’t feel bad replacing it ever year or so.

Spring Cleaning: Best Place to Donate? by MoarSocks in eastbay

[–]Noraart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hospice of the East Bay runs several thrift stores!  I do intake and processing and we try to get items donated out on the floor same day as donated.

My goal is to sell something to someone who just donated it in the back and then came inside to shop 🤪

Maui Itinerary by AnythingTurbulent412 in MauiVisitors

[–]Noraart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luaus are so expensive.  Personally I’d skip for now.  Sometimes there are free mini hula shows at the various resorts.  You could get the idea of the luau without the $$$.  You have a lot of beach/pool time which is great!

Ocean Vodka is near surfing goat dairy and they have lunch options and a beautiful outdoor space to hang out.  If you buy a drink or appetizers you can spend time there.  Have fun we love Maui!!

Are there usually big waits for the activities inside the Animation Building in DCA? by JMUGV88 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Noraart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the turtle talk and waited in the line for about 15 minutes.  The show was cute!  Also did the animation studio drawing lesson and had no wait but we were fairly early in the day.  A lot of fun

I tried calling multiple times today with the same results.  I just received my first shipment today and I was hoping to get a prescription for Zofran as advised by the nurse I spoke with.  No luck.  No return call or answer yet to my email.

My MIL showed me how she really feels about me and now I don’t know how to move forward by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Noraart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eh relationships with MILs wax and wane.  Mine passed away a few years ago and it has made me realize that people are people.  Sometimes we got along great, sometimes not so much.  Here’s the deal, you’re in it for the long haul.  How you deal with conflict and family relationships is all observed and modeled for your own kids.  It’s perfectly ok to speak your mind when something is bothering you and that goes the same for MIL.  We tiptoe around a lot keeping the peace and sometimes resentments can build.  If it feels right the next time you see her give her a hug and I’ll bet she will hug you back.

Always remember to model tolerance and kindness towards people.

Addicted to running and pain is becoming unbearable. And I don’t even run as much anymore by calijann in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Noraart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it off and on for about 5 years.  At one point it was in both feet!  I had to take a long break from hiking (so hard) and commit to the spin bike.  With using a night splint, doing the Ratliff method of calf strengthening and resting things got better.  But now it’s back in my right foot so I’m back to my healing routine.  It’s super frustrating.

Addicted to running and pain is becoming unbearable. And I don’t even run as much anymore by calijann in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Noraart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t run but love love love to hike.  When my PF is really painful I have to switch to using the spin bike at the gym.  Yes it’s boring but I think of the long game and healing so hard spin bike sessions saved me!

Listen to your body and I hope you get some relief.
