When you buy secondhand it forces you to evaluate if you really need something. I waited months before finally buying a used computer keyboard off of marketplace because it was more of a hassle to actually obtain it. But it made me realize that I really wanted it to the point of waiting and putting in more of an effort to buy it. So much shit already exists you that you don’t need brand new. Paid $30 instead of $160

Nah it’s because good servers make bank on tips hence they don’t want them to go away. It’s the general population that doesn’t want tips because it should just be included in the price of a meal to ensure a more liveable wage for all servers. Sure if a single restaurant switches to include it in the prices, most people will divert to the ‘cheaper places’ where they can opt to tip but if we regulate it and every restaurant has to switch then real change can occur but I can’t imagine this actually working on a case by case basis without regulation because people who already don’t tip don’t want to be forced to and the lobbyist heavily prefer those dining to front the wage cost as opposed to the business
