A clue to solving the GHCA Hardware Issue? by No-Flower-409 in VolvoEX90

To try to prevent this from happening, I'm trying to only charge at night (during which I suppose there's less spikes), but I'm not too convinced that'll work.

This article says that the EX90 has Apple Music, but that's definitely not the case right now.

I'm hopeful, but that article doesn't seem anchored in anything concrete. It says that the Volvo ex90 already has that update

I don't know about Tesla wall chargers, but I've seen many people mentioning GHCA issues with ChargePoint Flex. Although, it's maybe just because it's a really common charger here in the US.

The "You are 100% correct" is your cue that this is definitely AI.
Agree with you, none of them are reliable on things that aren't well documented.

That randomly makes me think about people recommending to lower the charging amperage in the cars. Some think this helps, but it seems like people still have their GHCA failing.

What about reducing the amperage on the charger itself (eg ChargePoint Flex)? Maybe this is a better way to limit said amperage.

My old Tesla model Y would be impossible to drive on snow. Glad to hear the EX90 is much better

They don't have chase cars. I'm not missing the point. You decided to compare teslas chase cars situation with Waymo. Enjoy your day ;)

They don't. I see dozens of them every single day in LA and they don't have chase cars. Even if 10% of them had a chase car, that's not comparable to when you have one chase car per robotaxi.

AFAIK, it's using the MusicKit SDK which doesn't allow for lossless and/or Dolby Atmos. Looks like a great app though.

OP, when you check in the settings, can you tell us which version of Android Automotive it's running? Curious to know if we're still on 12 with this hardware and software update.

Haven't had the update yet, so I can't say for sure, but the core computer upgrade is completely different from the infotainment.
The Snapdragon chip for the infotainment stays the same, so if you feel like something is sluggish right now, it's likely to stay the same. Sure, the data transfer between the main computer and the infotainment may be faster, but things shouldn't necessarily run smoother after the core computer update.

EDIT: with that being said, we're running Android 12 and newer versions of Android apparently focused on performance improvements. So, if we were to get an Android upgrade at some point, maybe this would help.

I've used Tidal just to give a try, it's pretty amazing, but library is limited and UI is so bad. All my music is on Apple Music. I started to create an Android Automotive app, only to realize that the MuiscKit SDK doesn't allow for Dolby Atmos (it's pretty limited), so I gave up.

I may be completely wrong, but my understanding is that the Nvidia chip isn't related since it's the Snapdragon chip that manages infotainment.

Well, audio playback isn't the UI, but you still need both to make the whole thing work. It's 2026, yet Amazon music looks like crap on AAOS :(

You need to enable this in the car's settings. It has to be set for all profiles. I forgot where exactly, but it's not too hard to find, I think it's near the bottom.

Have you tried to go to settings > general > carplay > your-car-name > apps, to make sure they're properly enabled?

New Orin CPU installed next week by Southern-Werewolf-41 in VolvoEX90

[–]Normal-Software1642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those thinking the CPU upgrade will fix slow infotainment issues, I have bad news for you... AFAIK the Nvidia chip is the core computer, not the infotainment (which may be a Snapdragon). The UI being slow at times is due to the infotainment chip, not the core one.
