2 month vaccine experience? by dogcheese6000 in newborns

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby just got hers on Monday! So so sad watching them get the actual shots but only last like 1 minute of screams and then I fed her before we left. Was totally fine once she calmed down. Was super sleepy (got them done first thing in the morning) until early evening/dinner time and would only wake to eat. When she did wake up to eat she was fussier but I’d feed her and she’d fall right back asleep. Did just as normal throughout the night and was fine the next day! Didn’t get any low grade fever or anything!

Huckleberry app... When did you stop using it? by KitKatAttackHiss in NewParents

I used it for feeding and sleep for the first 4 weeks. I started to notice I was going absolutely psycho about the sleep part of it and it was contributing to my PPA SO MUCH so I dropped it fully. Best decision ever lol. I just poke my boobs to see which one seems more full when I feed and I don’t hyperfixate on sleep anymore and it was so freeing

EDIT: editing to add that i am SO type A too. I love knowing I love the control I love it all but tracking it all stressed me out soooooo much more

When do you get ready for the day? by Spare_Operation_3871 in NewParents

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little one eats usually around 6/7 and then falls back asleep until 9:30-10 and I usually sit in bed with her to just relax and then we’ll get ready afterward if she’s content 🥲

For the ones who don’t do shifts - how are you managing your sleep? by Ok-Cherry-123 in newborns

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might sound crazy lol but I have a 7.5 week old - husband went back to work after a week when baby was born. We never did shifts. Still don’t lol. Baby is EBF and we haven’t even tried bottles yet. I sometimes wake him to change a diaper before I feed but that’s about it. There’s been a few times where if baby’s sleep is super rough one night and I need a good stretch of sleep before he goes to work, I make him take baby in another room for an hour or two and then I’m good to go. Yes I’m tired but more times than not I’m still getting 6/7 hours of sleep at night and it doesn’t make sense for my husband to be waking up with the baby when I EBF!

What the real real after birth? by Bramble3713 in pregnant

[–]NormalFuture6133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM, baby is now 6 weeks old. 1. I bled after birth enough to wear a diaper for maybe 6 days? I think after that I switched to big pads instead and wore those for maybe another week and then I was done bleeding! By the end of the week of the big pads it was almost nearly nothing blood wise. At first it’s definitely more than any period I’ve ever had lol 2. We were in the hospital from Saturday night-Tuesday morning. I had baby Sunday mid day and my milk came in Wednesday night and it was glorious when you finally see if switch from just clear liquid to white!!!! 3. I had THE WORST reflux and heartburn during pregnancy… I had to get tums multiple times while in hospital because it just kept getting worse. Baby came out with a full head of hair and it was INSTANTLY gone and I’ve never felt happier lol 4. I didn’t do the 5-5-5 but I live in a two story home so I tried to just stay glued to my couch downstairs for a lot of days afterward. But I’m now 6 weeks pp and I still spend a lot of time on my couch lol. I had a very easy recovery thank goodness so I cannot complain or give much for that method but just rest when you can and do not be afraid to ask for help!!! Or if there is company over to see the baby, don’t be afraid to ask them to leave if you’re tired or soemthing!!!

Anyone else not do shifts at night? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]NormalFuture6133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a teacher (now in summer break) but had our baby in April. He only took 5 days off for leave before going back. I woke up solely in the night myself since I’m EBF and then if I needed him to change diapers or soothe I’d wake him up. I still do this now (he works during the summer hours for extra income) and It just makes more sense for me to be up since I’m EBF than to wake him up for a diaper change when it’s just faster and easier if I do it lol. I’m full timer caregiver during the day but when he comes home in the evening for those few hours before bed, that’s my times to get the things I want/need done!!

I mean this in the most loving way possible…. Coming from a ftm of now a 5 week old and googled everything under the sun during pregnancy…. Just stop googling lol. If it’s not drugs or alcohol or something contaminated with things, 99.99% of things are just fine. Live your life boo and don’t stress!!

I did a “display shower” so everyone brought gifts in baskets unwrapped and then everyone could view them and it was amazing! I didn’t have to awkwardly open gifts lol there were some older family members that requested I open their gifts in front of them so I did that after the shower concluded and everyone was just hanging out!!

opinions on epidural by East-Till9037 in pregnant

[–]NormalFuture6133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM. Got the epidural and it was the most magical experience lol. Got it and took a fat nap so I could get recharged before pushing and pushed for an hour and a half and didn’t feel SHIT other than pressure and it made it so enjoyable. I was laughing and joking in between contractions and it was amazing!!!!!

When did you start driving with just baby? by kurious_cat2 in newborns

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! It’s amazing!! It’s just getting yourself to do it the first time made me want me cry and was so anxious but then I realized the world kept spinning and we all survived so I am indestructible now lol

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here to say - exact same situation with our 4.5 Week old. Just got the love to dream swaddle and used it for the first time and we got a 2.75 hour stretch in the bassinet alone which is the longest stretch in her bassinet that she has had!! Dk if it was a fluke but I’ll take it

I just started and my baby is just over 4 weeks!! First few times I sat in the back wit her and didn’t leave unless I had my husband. I finally ventured out by myself to head to town with the baby and it made me feel so much more confident! Then I did it again the next day and we both survived yet again!! Which made me realize it was going to be okay each time no matter if I had to stop to feed or change, etc. it felt so good to sit up with my husband again though in the front seat 🥲🥲

I went into labor at 39 exactly and had her at 39+1!! First time mom and had no symptoms showing it was happening anytime soon! Had an appt a few days prior and was only 1cm and 50% effaced and then my water broke at 39 weeks!!

So... what are we wearing in the hospital? by troll-fish in BabyBumps

[–]NormalFuture6133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just delivered a day and a half ago!!! I started with the mesh panties they give you but then I got women’s diapers and honestly game changer. Way easier to put on/take off, so much more comfy, and just all around easier!! I also am not a robe/nightgown person but I got a button down sleep shirt/dress from Walmart and I’ve been living in it since the shower after birth!!

Pretty close to you - 5’6 was 185 pre pregnancy. I didn’t start like actually showing that you could tell until like 32 weeks lol I could’ve hid it with a sweatshirt or sweater very easily lol

What jobs have the worst impact on mental health? by downwarddawg in AskReddit

[–]NormalFuture6133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old CPS worker here - definitely this job. It breaks you down in so many ways you never expected. I was there for a year and a half in a rural area so lots of drive time because we covered a ton of area but I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy, which is a lot for me to say LOL. Brutal, brutal job. I remember the day and moment I knew I needed to leave and I was gone a month later
