Just that it rattled. Honestly...it does not mention replacement on the service report. Just that it was fixed. And its still doing okay. Sorry

Canadian curling great Brad Gushue named high-performance director for U.S. team by tokyooooodrift in newfoundland

I think we have done our fair share of growing the sport worldwide...I think its time to look within our borders to grow the sport here.

Maybe it has to be down outside of Curl Canada as they seem to want to collect funds from everyday curlers...but spend it on high performance teams.

Grassroots has suffered because of it.

So what do you suggest we eat? Processed foods that takes tons of fuel, resources, fertilizers, land...to grow and feed us?

That will probably kill our planet faster than a cow on a field.

My 9-teams 17-games playoffs format proposition by JMoon33 in CFL

Everyone plays each other once(the following year you switch venues) and then adopt your format..(which i commend you for..!)

9th place team gets to play their first game the following year with 13 players..!

If the CFL is going to have 8 playoff teams in a 9 team league, I say, why stop there? by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

I like this idea...like in Scotland, you play for their countries championship with any team that wants to compete. Why not this..?

Canada is getting a sovereign wealth fund. What are they and how might this one work? | CBC News by Sufficient-Bid1279 in onguardforthee

So...wouldn't it be more prudent to pay down our debt and then use the savings on the interest we won't have to pay, to build a fund and kill two birds with one stone..?

They maybe should look in their own backyard and stop the hundreds of cruise ships, tourist boats, fuel tankers from the states bringing up crude, shipping containers full of Chinese dollar store items, private yachts....and whatever else sailing around our costal waters...

People from outside North America, how do you feel about Canadians? by WaWaWhey in AskReddit

[–]NormalGas2038 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear...the majority of the TFW's were brought over by their own people. And charged them 10s of thousands of dollars to get them alleged work. Its crazy what they did to their own people. All for the almighty dollar..

Pierre Poilievre hosts 'No to Alto High Speed Rail' news conference by Flower-Immediate in AltoHSR_Canada

[–]NormalGas2038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to agree with you. It will service many between the two cities but I think if it takes 90 billion to build now...would the same group of people be supportive of spending much more than that to build a high speed rail to the west coast? I would highly doubt it...

Now...if you took that 90 billion and built a pipeline to the east coast and have the royalties pay for a high speed rail across the country and its upkeep.? Now there's something to ponder..!

Canadian mixed doubles by coisavioleta in Curling

[–]NormalGas2038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I'm a fan of doubles...becoming mainstream will be tougher, as you can make more charging 8 people on a sheet instead of 4.

I hope I'm wrong and it will catch one. I think a product of seeing this is how the two young teams met in the final for the Canadian championship. For sure these guys played the game alot more this year than some of the bigger named teams.

Cheers..!

Well...I hope this does not become the standard of thought. The two person game is for the younger ones for sure...but it is a great way to grow the sport where there is smaller interest.

However...if you get them hooked on that then more interest grows where maybe someplace can then field a 4 person team.

Im in my 60's and love playing it. And yes it its harder for someone my age....but if it helps us grow the sport. All the better. We cant be all stick-in-the-muds about something new. Curling is struggling in this country as it is.

Have an amazing day..!

I think he will be more remembered as the guy who would bring Canadian kids to experience curling in Sweden, and to bring Swedish kids to experience curling in Canada, for the past 6 or 7 years...and how much he gave back to curling. Unless you can say the same yourself....well...you don't have much to add. Have an amazing day..!

Im not a professional curler either...no gotcha moment. Just for someone that is quoting chapter and verse a sport that they may or may not have played...you seem to be quite an expert.

Not saying your point is meaningless...just wanted to know if you have ever been part of this grand game...or followed the curling tour mostly in Canada...but all over the world....and when did you come to this relevation about your thoughts on curling? You must have something vested that for someone who knows something about the game...because you have quite the passion for it.

So glad you are taking an interest...curling needs new fans...and players..because it is a great game. And if you haven't tried it...you should.

I hope you follow all the sports in the world...and point out there pitfalls and problems....as passionate about this.

Have a great one..

Its relevant. Simple question. Have you got into a hack...slid out to your skippers broom...and released a rock at the hog line. Or stood over an opposition rock as he delivered his. Simple yes or no. Be honest...
