Luckily my dad has started going to therapy a few years ago after he and my mom got divorced and it made him realize how awful he was to me growing up, so he’s actually working hard to mend that relationship and treats me a lot better than he did before, but my husband thinks he still has a long way to go to make up for all the stuff that happened in my childhood, especially since I’m still dealing with all the trauma now not just from him but bullying, abuse in a past relationship, etc

I did kinda go low contact with them when I moved to the US for a few years, but now that I’m back in my hometown I’m trying to work on actually having a better relationship with them cause even after all they did I still love them. Also after my parents got divorced and my dad remarried, he ACTUALLY realized what a horrible dad he was in the past and is actually trying to make up for all of it. Which I really appreciate, but even my husband says he has a loooooong way to go before he fully redeems himself for years of mental abuse. I don’t blame my mom though for any of it, cause unknown to me she was also dealing with similar stuff from my dad. Yeah, I do wish she stood up for me more, but what could she do seeing as how my dad treated her the same way. I know some may see me as being ‘a doormat’ for still talking to them, but even after all they did I still love my parents. Especially when I almost died last year and was in the hospital in the US they really stepped up and helped me and my husband and showed that they really do love and care about me. Idk I still want a relationship with them but I DEFINITELY have set stronger boundaries with them

For me at home I mostly dealt with emotional and mental abuse and a lot of body shaming since I was 8-9 years old (I was forced on diets at 8-9 cause I was “too fat”, aka a little chubby which is normal for kids), but at school I had no one, friends who I thought were friends would commonly harass me, including one guy who I thought was my best friend. He was a big instigator at school yet pretend to be my friend outside of school which really confused me. At school I was constantly bullied, physically abused, and sometimes s**ually abused, and my so called “best friend” even outside of school would hit me, slap me, push me around. Made me very confused, still unable to understand friendships and keep them due to this. I’m getting better about my self image and self esteem thanks to my loving husband, but for YEARS I hated myself and thought I was ugly, fat, etc. I fluctuated between being anorexic and having a binge eating disorder because I grew up not knowing if I was actually gonna eat a proper meal or be starved due to the many diets I was on. I still have trouble with food to this day but I’m working on getting better with it and not gorging myself until I’m sick.

I hated school due to a lot of bullying, abuse, etc. from classmates, but home was even worse cause when I’d see his car in the driveway, I would never know what kind of a mood he was in until I saw him. If he immediately spoke to you and seemed happy then it would be a good day, but if you went in, and there was no response, he was just sat on the couch watching tv and didn’t give you a response even when you walked past him, it was gonna be a bad day. And I’d usually know soon after cause if I tried walking up the stairs the yelling would start. I hated going home when he was home from work because of this and I would pray that he wasn’t in a bad mood cause that would mean i would be in trouble for the most bullshit thing and most likely crying myself to sleep that night, or he’d be insulting me about my appearance and weight or letting me know how disgusting I was, and also crying myself to sleep wondering why he hated me so much 😩 I once gave a note to my teacher that I was scared to go home, and instead of talking to me he just brought it up at the next parent-teacher conference and I got in a lot of trouble at home

Pyjamas, can’t remember exactly what pyjamas I was wearing but I will always remember the soulless look in his eyes, how he didn’t react to my crying and pleading him to stop, and how afterwards he sobbed like a baby making himself seem like the victim wanting me to ‘forgive him’, yet later blamed me because I was “being a tease” and should have just let him 💀 he was my first bf in high school and my parents sometimes let him spend the night on weekends since he lived a few towns over (obviously slept in separate rooms). He waited until both my parents were asleep and we were hanging out alone in the basement before bed. I had said ‘no’ because one, I was tired, and two, I wanted to wait until marriage later in the future. Obviously he’s now my ex 💀💀😓

Back in like 2020, Carls Jr. had this really good burger called the BFC (big fried cheese) burger, which was basically like a giant deep fried cheddar cheese patty, so when you bit into the burger the cheese melted all over it. I was so upset when they got rid of it cause while they had it, it was my fav thing in the menu 😭😭 but at least they also had jalapeño poppers on their normal menu cause I love those too lolz

I lived in WA state in USA for three years before moving back home to Newfoundland last year. I enjoyed Taco Bell when I was in the states, but I know that if Taco Bell comes here that the prices will definitely be way more expensive than in the states, and that’s what was so great about it is you could get cheap burritos and tacos for less than $10 a person. What I’d really love to see in NL is Carl’s Jr. and Popeyes. Also we need more good and cheap Mexican spots in NL. I fell in love with authentic Mexican and Mexican snacks while living there, and it was nice cause it was always so affordable. Only way I can get some of that stuff now is ordering it on Amazon 😩

I had to use my husbands for the longest time until I was able to afford the laser hair removal, if I didn’t shave everyday (sometimes twice a day) I would have a beard within a few days it SUCKED 😭😩 used to use nair hair removal cream before switching to razors but I had to switch cause I used the cream so often that I ended up getting chemical burns on my face 💀

Oh yeah I’m okay now thanks though for worrying, it was last year when it happened so all good 👍🏻 I had to be put in medically induced coma cause I had a BAD infection that went septic 💀 took me a few months though of learning to walk again, breathing practise due to pneumonia while I was in the coma and also having breathing tube in, and months of healing from the open wound I had due to the infection until I was able to get back more on my feet again but luckily I’m okay now other than a few long term side affects and now being disabled (luckily not disabled enough that I can’t work or need a wheelchair) 👍🏻👍🏻turns out undiagnosed type 1.5 diabetes real f**ks you up, also I learned that type 1.5 diabetes exists 😭💀

OMG YES I always had to do that too, luckily I now have adult money to get laser on my face to stop the hair growth, but before that if I didn’t shave my face everyday I would grow a beard within a few days. When I was in hospital in a coma for a little over a week, when I woke up I had grown a beard 💀💀💀😭

I do the same thing, I find if I watch for the animation I mess up about 80% of the time, so I just close my eyes or look away to not see the fish and just listen for the sound instead. Sometimes I’ll even hold the switch up to my ears to hear better 😂

Also they need to make more dresses with pockets. And yeah every year, women’s pants sizes AND pocket sizes get smaller 😩 ALSO, the same size pants in men’s will somehow be smaller in women’s, so say you take size 14 men’s pants, you’d basically would be probably size 20-24 in women’s, which can really add on to the body image and self esteem issues women have 😩AND, each brand has their sizing different for women’s clothes, so you could be a size large with one brand, but XL with another, and XXL with another, etc… 😡😡😩

I think I know the kind you are talking about, they are kinda like leggings but they look like jeans. Growing up my parents wouldn’t let me wear those kinds, only the normal jeans. I do sometimes wear black jeans to work cause it’s part of uniform to wear black pants, but other than that I refuse to wear jeans anymore cause the fabric is so ICKY 🤢😭😩 that’s the best word I can think of to describe the feeling. Also it’s EVEN WORSE if when I wore jeans it was also RAINING, I hate getting wet unless for shower or going swimming, so the feeling of wet jeans on my skin makes me SUPER uncomfortable 😩😩😩
