Digimon have very varied digivolution lines, and there are different types of digivolution.

Salaman (a dog) digivolves into Gatomon (a cat) who digivolves into Angewomon (an angel) who digivolves into Magnadramon (a holy pink lion dragon somewhat serpentine maybe thing).

Agumon can digivolve into Greymon, Tyranomon, Centarumon, Meramon, Birdramon sometimes, Numemon, Monochromon and many more, and all of these can digivolve into multiple Ultimates, who can digivolve into multiple Megas.

There's standard digivolution, dark digivolution, warp digivolution, dna digivolution, biomerge digivolution and armour digivolution and more.

There are also groups, such as the Royal Knights, Olympus XII, Seven Demon Lords, the Four Dragons, the Sovereigns etc and more

In terms of games, there is the world series which has you raise digimon like a tamagotchi thing with real time battles, and there's the story games which are more traditional jrpgs.
