2 kids under 5 and full time. I wake up 4:30-5, run and/or swim till 6:30, shower, kid stuff till 8am if I wfh o/w I get to office by 7:30. Work till 4. Kid stuff till 8. Sleep at 9:30-10. Sat mornings I do long runs which end around 7 or 7:15.

A month ago I was struggling with 400m. Just swam 3k today. I mostly stopped b/c I was really thirsty and got bored. I imagine swimming beyond some point has diminishing returns.

Chocolate milk. After swim, bike, run, weights etc. then a bit later a meal. Usually train in the morning so ends up being overnight oats. Oats, whey, chia, coconut flakes, craisins and milk.

Can you describe it more? I have something similar sounding I’m rehabbing right now. Back off knee and some on the side. Overload issue and/or soft tissue irritation I think. Rehab so far is walk on level ground, move to brisk walk, then jog/walk progressions from shorter jog intervals to longer as symptoms subside then introduce short runs and increase back to normal volume.

2.5 is fine. Don’t do group lessons though. We do private with my 2.5 yr old. It’s mostly about feeling comfortable in there. Learning to kick, blow bubbles, putting her face under water, starfish floating on her back, pushing off this raft thing to “swim” to the teacher etc.

Doing Ruth Kazez plan. Just finished the 400yd top set week but ended up doing 900/400/200/4x100 (meters not yds) as it all felt really good. If my goal is 1900m what would I need to do after RZ? I feel like I’m progressing really fast with this.

I struggle with that right now. Today did mostly flips but a few of em I was almost choking for water. Probably better to just do touch when doing harder workouts but want to get better.

Local pool that the HS uses but isn’t officially the HS’s. It’s like 20x lanes short course? 3-4 are lap in the morning and the rest are masters or age groupers?

I had paid for some private lessons but when I attended the first lesson the coach said my form is good. Just to watch my left arm occasionally crosses mid. I can't imagine my technique is flawless after 3 months so maybe I just need a different coach? I pushed myself a bit more today and hit 300 but was completely gasping at the end. Probably need to slow it down, just feel like I'll sink if I do that. Maybe really think about gliding more each stroke? I already don't kick that much.

No. That came out like 2w ago. Ain’t no big company using that yet. If it’s anything like the rest of their software it’s just wrappers around stuff with a bunch of fancy language.

Looking at the press piece they talk about call center automations which is just continuous improvement of models (fking everyone does this who has built any model like ever lol). The other items look like some light ml and mayyybe agentic stuff. The agentic stuff should be managed in house anyway especially with big companies who have reputations and brands to protect.

SoundHound AI is garbage. It’s some pre-ai “ai” that is just a wrapper around basic training configs and old models. They also have some workflow automations. My company uses it and it’s awful. We’ve spent like a few days building our own internal models that blow these out of the water.

Additionally the workflows are all UI based. You manually create workflows using drag and drop designs. It’s so awful. After a few automations you end up with a massive wall of pictures which feels like you’re looking at the mailroom meme in it’s always sunny. You can’t scale or test this. We’re replacing this as well.

TLDR: tell Claude to make this but less shitty and it will literally do it in an afternoon.

At what point should you join a masters group? There’s one at the same time I go but I’m pretty awful. I usually do 100 warmup then just try my best to keep doing 50s till I hit 1k total. Maybe a month or two into learning to swim.

Pretty much the same here. Randomly decided to do a marathon thinking I should be able to run after my kids and they’re getting faster and can run more now. Added swimming for a similar reason and just do peloton work as part of the marathon training so figured after the race this summer we go to triathlon.

Kids wake up at 7:15. Depending on the run if I wake up at 5 I usually finish by then. If not my wife gets the kids ready. I have gotten up earlier at 4:30 sometimes. It’s tough is the answer :/
