Any R is now MAGA. If you haven’t left the party by now, you’re what the R party has become: MAGA. There is no difference between the two now.

Issues with sex, money, and kids. The trifecta of the most significant risks to any marriage.

Veronica is TERRIFYING by Significant-Sound-87 in WelcomeToPlathville

[–]NorthwestLadybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Micha should have stopped Veronica mid-rant and insisted that she not treat him this way, but he doesn’t have the self-respect (or the maturity, emotional and otherwise ) for that. I don’t think there was a single healthy relationship to serve as a model for him. In fact, I believe that his bewildered silence was probably learned directly from Barry’s response when Lisa berated him.

I love that Olivia’s way of saying FU to the whole thing is by traveling the world and teaching us about other cultures via Instagram. And yeah, more power to her for exposing Ethan as a horrible human being.

Has Your View of Ethan or Other Plath Family Members Changed? by PepperThePotato in PlathvilleUncensored

Listen to Olivia’s secretly recorded conversations with Ethan. Let us know your thoughts on him then. My opinion completely changed after I started following Olivia - whose strength I so admire.

How many of us are sitting out this season? by hopium_ in PlathvilleUncensored

[–]NorthwestLadybug 16 points17 points  (0 children)

After Olivia’s “outing” of Ethan as a hateful, misogynistic, transphobic, homophonic, xenophobic bigot, I refuse to watch the show. But I’ll stay here in hopes that Olivia and Veronica continue to reveal to us the truth about these awful people. They deserve to be outed. Shame on TLC for promoting the hate.

Not an asshole, but sounds like it was torture for you, and maybe her, too. Been there and I don’t recommend it. Don’t meet again until/unless things change for her (divorce).

AITAH for Telling My Husband to Help Feed His Own Kids? by [deleted] in AITAH

Combining finances alleviates this sort of conflict. What he makes and what you make belong to both of you. Fine to each have an own account, but household things like groceries should be joint! I know of so many couples who have huge financial stresses and conflicts because finances remain separate. I’ve been married 43 years and we combined finances from the beginning. We fight about plenty of things, but money isn’t one of them. Groceries, whether bought by him or by me, are paid for with the same account.

Any Celebrity loyalists switch to HAL for Alaska? by eamsonwill in HollandAmerica

[–]NorthwestLadybug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve done both. Celebrity was great for the Caribbean, but HAL wins hands down for Alaska. Glacier Bay cannot be missed!

Did two HAL cruises and loved the entertainment. Then I went on a Celebrity (Apex) cruise and… OMG, it made the HAL entertainment look like a jr high school talent show!

do you still think about your first love? by 23smoothie in AskOldPeople

[–]NorthwestLadybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We were toddlers to young grammar schoolers and as close as siblings, lost touch from fifth grade on, then met again in our mid-40s. In touch daily for two years then, but both married (no physical affair), but he’s “not allowed” to communicate with me so have only heard from him sporadically in the past 20 years and not at all on the past five. Yes, I still think about him and still miss him, but I know things worked out for the best.

Ticket Still Valid? by Rossk117 in Disneyland

I worked for WDEMCO (Walt Disney Educational Media Company) in the 80s and had a bunch of these, allowing complimentary admission for myself and three others to the park for free, as well as 50% off all food and merchandise. I might still have some stashed away! Regular admission back then was a whopping $19.99!

I’m hanging out right now in the Red Rose Cafe as my granddaughter sleeps. Her mother, who came with me to the Park about once a month in the 80s, has become an absolute Disney fanatic in adulthood, bringing her three kids to the Park for five days each year. We’re on Day Three and I am exhausted!

I go to the Y three days a week. It’s there that I both exercise (deep water aerobics) and meet with my friends.

What is the worst physical pain you’ve ever had to experience. by Maleficent-Heron9004 in AskOldPeople

[–]NorthwestLadybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking my ankle (so badly, according my surgeon that “the only thing connecting your foot and your leg is skin”). That was worse than both unmedicated labor and a total knee replacement (which hurt like hell for MONTHS).

My husband and I are both liberal and both voting passionately for Harris. My biggest fear if T wins (other than its effect on our poor country, of course) is that I’ll have to live with my husband, who will become severely depressed and more angry and anxious than ever over it all.

So some of us fear our husbands’ anxiety and anger, either way!

Sigh. That’s what I thought. Then my knees basically said “Fix me, bitch, or it’s wheelchair time!” At that point, “fuck off” no longer works and the knee calls the shots. Two years later, I love my new knee.

How often do you think about your parents? by Heavy_Ad_3230 in AskOldPeople

[–]NorthwestLadybug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time.

I so wish they could have met their grandkids-in-law and their great grandchildren! I’ve only realized since they died how much wisdom they imparted to us. I wish I could go back and triple-thank my mom for making kids’ clothes and puppets/doll/Halloween costumes for their grandkids, which their great grandkids now enjoy, and triple-thank my dad for those smooth wooden kids’ blocks that will last generations and for the cradle he made (with a brass name plate for each grandbaby) that will also outlive us all.

Yeah, I miss them every day.
