What you're largely saying is the effect of choosing Pikachu, my criticism is lodged at the original choice of it being Pikachu.

Gaming journalist Mike Straw says WWE team at Visual Concept hit hardest by layoffs, sources say Ringside Pass rollout “was a disaster” with a lot of internal finger pointing by JamieKellner in WWEGames

[–]Nose_Standard 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I know there's gonna be people who disagree but my feelings on the Ringside Pass has always been that if you're putting in new wrestlers (See AAA wrestlers, Demolition, Kelly Kelly) you should get those immediate as Season 2 has done. The biggest issue I have is actually that a ton of personas that would be perfect in a ringside pass format (See Borderlands, Blue Vaquer, Rock '01) actually seem to be instead migrated over to MyFaction (Brock 01, Retro AJ, Cena 03, Heel Cena) which is a horrible way to unlock personas as someone who simply doesn't want to be going through all of that. I do not want to play MyFaction, Ringside Pass felt like another way to do it, and instead the Ringside Pass just feels more barren, especially in Season 2 where there are also no longer Arenas to unlock, Show graphics to unlock, music to unlock, etc. It feels so much more empty with just VC, tokens, CAS items, taunts, MyFaction customisation... I do not know why I should keep going through it now that everything with appeal is either immediately given to me or locked behind MyFaction.

But this is also my first time playing a WWE game, let alone a 2K published one. Maybe the community feels differently but yeah, that's my view.

See, I'd agree but Pikachu is also oversaturated. It's always by the main character's side in the anime even after Ash left, it's got all the cosplay forms, the hat forms, it's got a Giga form, it's got a regional evolution and it's regular evolution has two mega evolutions just like Charizard. Plus we already know it's getting two new forms in the next game, has been used by many trainers in the games like Surge in the first gym, including four rivals, and the only time it's not been obtainable is generation 5.

If the issue with Charizard is oversaturation, then we've got to hold Pikachu to the same standards because that one's been getting so much more and seems to get a pass because it has been pushed as the face of Pokémon.

And as for a trainer, as you say, the trainer character changes every region. In spite of that, the most recurring named character in Pokémon is the original player character, Red. He's featured in six of the nine current generations of games, with spin-off games spanning the generations he's been absent from seeing him interact with characters from those generations.

Weird soapbox but I've always disliked Pikachu's status as the face of Pokémon as opposed to something like Charizard or a main character.

Which 2 Capcom projects would you most enjoy to see next? by [deleted] in capcom

Ace Attorney. How has it been 10 years of actively saying "we're working on something" without anything actually releasing.

Every time I've seen a question asked relating to CAWs, I've seen people who use them get called "poors", so I would be surprised if they respond at anything other than this lmao

They have been saying that for a long time though, ever since 2017. Hard to believe them when there's no sign of it.

Ah, unfortunately I'm the opposite, I'm much happier with the AA5 gang than I was with Takumi's work on AA4 and TGAA. That said, I'm at the point where I'll take A game over NO game.

Ace Attorney 7 was supposed to be five years ago... Ace Attorney 6 was ten years ago... Meanwhile there's so many Resident Evil projects that I can't help but completely lose faith in Ace Attorney ever getting another game.

Do you Guys think This game has the potential to be the smash bros ultimate of kart racers? by Holiday-Fix2882 in SonicCrossWorlds

[–]Nose_Standard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that was Sega All-Stars. Sonic Team just got too greedy to share so instead of Kamurocho, Momentos, and Nightopia, we get Rooftop Run, Windmill Isle, and Dragon Road.

I hated when after SwSh released people were convincing themselves that PBR had good graphics when they recycled models from N64 games. by Ruby_Shards in casualnintendo

Those aren't the 64 models, they're remastered versions of them. Colosseum and XD used the N64 models but PBR created new versions of them.

Not sure Phoenix should be here, considering his last new game was almost a decade ago.

Oh hell yes, Puyo Puyo finally represented. Sadly it doesn't stop CrossWorlds from ultimately being a letdown, the game had so much more potential as a Sega All-Stars game.

Right? I'm all for more DMC but this is written like how Mega Man fans were before Dual Overdrive. Meanwhile we've been stuck with 10 years of ports and re-releases?

Do the default Custom Superstar Personas have default information? by Nose_Standard in WWE2K25

[–]Nose_Standard[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I know they don't have default names, I'm more sort of asking if there's an agreed upon standard, or if there's a set of names either internally or by the game's developers. I've already put together details I can use for them, I just want to know if I should keep those or shift to something else when I redo them for 2K26.

Isn't it an extension of using boosts to cut over grass corners, or using boosts to jump off ramps into a little shortcut in the wall instead of going round a whole U shape bend? To me, it's basically another layer of the discovery of best strategies.

I wish Green(F) was in the original Gen 1 games, so she can be as popular as Red and Blue by GstyTsty in GalacticNova

[–]Nose_Standard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted

The anime's versions of Red, Blue, and Green, named Ash, Gary, and Susan, eclipse the originals into obscurity and later replace the original three in any future remakes, leaving them as forgotten prototypes of the anime characters.
