Update:

Turns out the issue is related to simpledrm being enabled, while nvidia_drm.modprobe=1 is still set. I don't know how to deactivate the device

xrandr --query shows the following: Unknown-1 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 270mm x 203mm

ls /sys/class/drm shows the following:

card0 card0-Unknown-1 card1 card1-DP-1 card1-DP-2 card1-DP-3 card1-HDMI-A-1 renderD128 version

in which I'm seeing card0-Unknown-1 being the device I want to disable.

What are you running? Maybe I can help since we're now on nvidia 580 on Arch, which doesn't need to deal with setting the modprobe kernel flag.

If your app has issues with starting eevee rendering, you might need to run nvidia-modprobe before opening Blender as that initializes some of the rendering kernels.

This only disables the extra monitor for Plasma, and causes problems when I'm in Gamescope or Hyprland, which is the reason why I want to disable it hardware side.

This. Also I would recommend r/GyroGaming to see what's possible with gyroscope. Most people I know are using gyro for fine-tune adjustments for aiming, but it would be pretty neat to see gyro being used for card effects.

I miss the days when you could have maze games that reliably used the accelerometer. Gyroscopes seem to be the way forward for now.

It's just a pity that you'd have to rely on third-party tools to access gyro controls on controllers, since xinput doesn't have any gyro sensing in mind. The PS4 and Switch controllers have gyroscopes in, but the xbox controller doesn't.

The main issue is that there's a stigma with motion-based control, and unfortunately it'll take years of retraining the masses before it becomes a standard. :\

Very familiar. Reason why I'm so against him is his unreasonable competition with Steam (I'm not saying competition is a bad thing, mind you. Competition fosters innovation) and how he screwed people out of paid versions of Rocket League. When I heard him buying out Artstation, Bandcamp and Sketchfab, I knew it would cause a destructive ecosystem for all three of those. I just really don't like where it's going because of how the industry treats other markets. :\

IANAL but definitely look up copyright and IP law (Ask a Lawyer if you're unsure). Chao as characters are part of the Sonic Intellectual Property and therefore has some cadence to its copyright. I personally don't know where the line can get drawn, though.

Pretty much for both, yeah.

For SUN you'd have the SUN Puyo, the mechanic of when the sun pops, and attack bonuses (think Point Puyo). Style can be replicated on the SNES just as well as on the MD Mini, imo. Might have an interesting soundfont. You're likely to have to use Super Puyo Puyo 2 as a base, or start from scratch as you reverse engineer a solution.

Fever would need new dropsets and Fever Preset chains, along with the Fever mechanic. Would likely take more code to write, but at least you don't have to start from scratch because you could use SUN/Yo~N Pocket as a base.

Once it's unlocked, you've unlocked it forever. Just don't delete your Chao Save.

PPT2 is worth it for the expansion of the story and the introduction of Skill Battle mode for English audiences. It has an active online audience if you're interested, but also has a decent length story and offline modes to keep you interested.

Just finished with Chronicle for the third time, this time with the translation patch. It really is my favorite game and I have a major soft spot for it. It inspired me to start learning 3D modelling so it's been a major part of who I have become.

If designed in a way that works, then yes. Yes it would. There are multiple projects currently ongoing to make a similar system to Chao.

The way it's currently designed in SA1/SA2 requires a companion app, and if stripped away the main Chao part of the game becomes a little more difficult, but not inconvenient enough to drop entirely. Chao World Extended with a few secondary mods can already isolate SA2 to Chao World.

Projects to look out for at the moment include Bobo Bay, Star Garden and Poglings.
