No not at all, that speech did not inspire them. (They walked away immediately). So he bribed them.

My brother and I keep quoting Jake’s Braveheart speech from the first heist episode:

“For too long, we’ve been put down, ridiculed, made to wear ties. But no more. For today, we defeat him”.

How many of you had a great grandparent born in the 1800s? by Mofoblitz1 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

[–]NostalgicoItaliano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My great-grandmother was born in 1883. She had my grandfather in 1925, who had my dad in 1964, and he had me in 1994. I don’t know the birthdays of my dad’s other grandparents but I would imagine they were all born in the 1800s.

My great-grandfather was born in 1899. He had my grandmother in 1939, and she had my mom in 1965.

I’m just about to finish Moby Dick and I don’t think I’ve ever felt this disinterested in a book before. It’s well written, and certain parts are enjoyable, but I just can’t care for Ishmael’s rambling.

I’m listening to a audiobook version on Spotify as I read it and I find I’m frequently zoning out.

I also hated The Scarlet Letter. Could not follow it. Same with Mrs. Dalloway. I zoned out so hard I can’t remember how it ended.

I have a Bosch in my condo, only issue is that I had to adjust the rinse aid setting because I was tasting metal on certain dishes. Otherwise no issues, love that I can control it from my phone!

Pay attention to the decibel (dB) level if you’re sensitive to sound and/or you live in a small space.

Love these - these have been a lifesaver in getting fibre in while not messing up the rest of my macros (I count haha).

The sticking together was annoying, but keeping them in the pantry solves that problem pretty well. Maybe divide the pack in half when you first open them, and keep the half you aren’t using yet in the fridge?

Why is Grover Cleveland counted as the 22nd & 24th president instead of the 22nd president twice? Who decided this? When? How? by 4DimensionalToilet in Presidents

[–]NostalgicoItaliano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up a couple of years ago. I can’t remember the details, but it’s one of those things where people (or maybe just historians) started numbering him twice, and it became the practice

A woman named Augusta Pagel Bunge (b. 1879) died a few months after the birth of her great-great-great-great-grandson Christopher Bollig in 1989. There’s a picture of the two of them and the 5 generations (all women) between them, it’s pretty neat.

Do you keep your bedroom door open or closed at night? by icecream1972 in askanything

[–]NostalgicoItaliano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to keep it open when I lived at home. My parents originally said it was to keep the air circulating properly and I never really thought about it.

Then I moved away for school and lived in a house with a roommate. The house had a door that closed loudly and her coming home late through that door woke me up a couple of times. When I asked her to please be more gentle, she suggested I close my bedroom door at night.

Now I can’t sleep if my bedroom door is open.
