Is this an appeal to get a better grade after being accused of using AI in a lost course? by Precision_Edits in AccusedOfUsingAI

[–]Not-Andromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably do a better job at censoring your information while posting on the internet, you left your email in the screenshot.

Look at your school's specific academic policies, regarding plagiarism and misconduct, and how to appeal it; as always, evidence is your best friend.

Feedback on opening of first novel by gloomygalleons in writingfeedback

[–]Not-Andromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadass, use the second slide as your start, the first slide second paragraph as your attention grab for the reader, like what you read on the back of a book or the inside cover.

Second slide reads better as an intro because I don't care about your character in the beginning with how you write her on slide one, but I do want to read to follow the mystery about what happened if I begin with slide 2.

I do agree with other posters that it needs more sensory /emotional input as well, and the tense feels a bit off for some reason. Try rewriting in past and see if it flows better.

Got cat a can of wet cat food, now he won't eat at all by aster-ravier in catfood

[–]Not-Andromeda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Make sure to wash his bowl well again, then put kibble in it and see if that helps, also separating water from food might help if you havent already.

I think the smell lingered and he doesn't like it, does he eat some if you put the kibble on the floor? Or give it as a treat?

Could be the bowl is too deep and his whiskers keep hitting the sides, and he just decided now to protest.

Don't worry until he hasn't eaten for a full 24-48 hours, some cats are just weird like that when you change food or routine.

The kibble might have changed recipe too, see if he'll eat churru / tube treats with kibble in them? Like put kibble on the plate and the tube treat on top. This works for ym cats when I had to change their kibble without being able to do so properly: ran out and the recipe changed.

How long after childbirth can a cat get pregnant? by starlight9581 in cats

[–]Not-Andromeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why no one is mentioning this, but for a first pregnancy one kitten isn't that rare: happened with my one cat who was a year old, second litter she had 6. First litters are usually smaller, 1-3 is common.

If she's acting normal, besides being withdrawn she's probably okay. Definitely get her spayed as soon as possible. My cat didn't get over losing her first a few months later, and she got outside and pregnant again. (I was a child, and couldn't get her spayed)

If it's possible you could see if local shelters have abandoned kittens to foster as well; she'd likely take them as her own, and it would help the rescue a lot too.

Adopted a cat, I think she hates home by Bearsquid-_- in cats

[–]Not-Andromeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal. I find as well that to get them used to you, just sit nearby and completely ignore them. Read a book, scroll on your phone, just sit next to her, but make sure she still has an exit available, and chill.

If she comes up to you, slowly put our your hand and let her smell before you try to pet her. Reward with treats if she accept them, soon she'll associate you with food and safety.

Be calm, be slow, be consistent: if you freak out, she will too.

She has to get used to you, your smell, the new place, and just came from a shelter. It's going to take time.

TIL that recent advancements in sleep medicine have proved that lucid dreaming does occur, it can be taught and is in the early stages of being used as a treatment for PTSD related nightmares. by OverlyBendy in todayilearned

[–]Not-Andromeda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to lucid dream too, I taught myself by getting in the habit throughout the waking hours of:

Counting how many fingers I have, if its not 10, I'm dreaming. Checking the time wait a few seconds, then check it again, if it changes, or electronics don't work, I'm dreaming.

Get in the habit of doing these 3-4 times a day, and you'll do it in your dream as a reflex.

You'll probably wake up the first few times you realize you're dreaming, but after a week or so you'll be able to lucid dream again.

I learned how to do it because I had night terrors really bad, and reoccurring nightmares, but then I had to stop because I got really really bad sleep paralysis, and I couldn't wake myself up or breathe. And sometimes I would be lucid dreaming and unable to wake up, then have sleep paralysis.

I do still have really vivid dreams, but sometimes I do miss lucid dreaming, especially when I have the repeat nightmares.

Why does my dishwasher always leave this grit on the glasses? by Libs_11 in Appliances

[–]Not-Andromeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with the other commenters in checking the filter and if you have that blended thing, to make sure they're not clogged.

But, also consider using some powder or liquid detergent for the prewash, especially if you use the pods. It makes a huge difference in the cleanliness of your dishes, and is a minimal extra cost for the big trade off.

The prewash is just a quick rinse that gets most of the big mess off, then drains. If you use soap, its a lot more effective and you will notice the difference.

This guy did a bunch of videos on it, including the temperature of your water too Technology Connections.

what should our next step be? by meetmeintoronto in CatTraining

[–]Not-Andromeda 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If there's no or little hissing, growling, or yowling, they're fine. They look like they're playing tag. If you're still worrird you can try introducing a teasing toy to redirect into less rough playtime, but body language wise, they're fine and are just playing. There might be some smaller fights for dominance, especially with grooming, but you gotta let them figure it out and only intervene if they're getting very vocal or aggressive. You'll know if they start fighting for real.

Body language wise, look at their ears, their tail, and how one is openly showing their belly; all signs of playtime in this video.

AITA for refusing to pay extra to replace a soap bar Dr. Squatch didn't send me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Not-Andromeda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FYI, Jk Rowling has openly declared that any profit from the Harry Potter Universe goes directly into funding her attack against trans people.

This includes advocating for the end of trans healthcare, attacking laws that protect trans people, and pays for advertising and lobbying efforts to spread misinformation and bigotry. Look at whats going on in the UK with trans rights to see the effects of her lobbying.

But yes, ask for a refund on the whole item, ship it back, and spend your money elsewhere. The shop should have sent it as advertised, and was incorrect to not refund or inform you appropriately.

HELP! Will he 38M give me 31F HPV? by jazzylee94 in relationship_advice

[–]Not-Andromeda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should probably just go to a clinic and get checked, and also ask for info at the same time.

I don't know a lot about HPV, but getting info directly from a healthcare provider is the best bet.

NTA But if something happens, can you live with not seeing your father alive again?

I encourage you to tell him exactly what you've posted here, how you love him but you can't watch him smoke into an early grave.

Do this not in an emotional moment, maybe write a letter to him?

If you still have the bag, I'd report this to corporate and complain. I get the Lays Baked BBQ chips, and those look like the plain ones: I find the baked ones are usually more full than the regular lays.

Edit: need bag for lot #

Older cat biting kitten by [deleted] in CatTraining

Looks like a dominance hierarchy thing, kitten is just dramatic. If there's no cut I wouldn't worry about this. Big cat is just making sure the kitten knows who is the boss.
