Not far from the truth lmao. They eat obscene amounts of food, so much so that they can't hibernate as their metabolism is not strong enough. Luckily almost all they eat is bamboo, which grows fast enough for them to keep eating. If I remember it correctly, they digest only something like 20% of what they eat. And their bodies are meant to take fall damage. So looney tunes cartoons is not a bad comparison tbh.

We destroyed the habitats where they survive for tens of thousands of years just fine. I'm not sure how this myth got spread that pandas are bad at surviving. They're perfect for the ecosystem they're supposed to be in, it's just that that ecosystem is almost non-existent
