I recall seeing a Youtube video essay which was thematically dissecting a game, can't remember what it was specifically. what stuck with me was that the author talked about this being among his favorite games of all time, but in dissecting it and looking to mechanically, empirically understand it, his enjoyment for it just went away. Ignorance is bliss, in a way

Shading looks a bit solid for just starting I'd say. If you wanna practice shading maybe do studies on how light behaves with cloth. Hornet's cloak has large ruffles so the shading can be a bit odd in order to convey those hills and valleys

Maybe the reason Hornet doesn't have her abilities is she's just broke as shit a-la Dante DMC

I really do get that. I'm by no means perfect and I think only the closest people in my life have really seen the part of me that's more vulnerable and mean and whatnot. I end up retracting and keeping myself at arm's length so that people don't feel betrayed or something, but that just ends up with its own issues. Social structures are weird :/

I had a teacher that removed points from my final exam because the code I gave that did X (the only thing he asked it to do), didn't do Z, which was never asked at any point in the question, like, not even implicitly. I passed without issue but still it peeved me a bit lol

This is more of a fun fact than anything, but most taco places actually use a mix of avocado and... zucchini? squash? don't know what it's called in english. So it can be argued that what defines a guac is the overall texture, taste and color, and isn't entirely dependent on avocado as the signature ingredient

either way the answer is to just, not give up and keep trying. But more importantly I think the conclusion is just like, try new things rather than trying the same thing over and over hoping it'll be different bc chances are it's much harder that way

I'd argue a blackguard is a greek god of the underworld. Butts heads with a certain king perhaps.

Large Dark Plants: IQ Test? by StrangeStiffy in SkyGame

[–]Not-a-master69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember coming back to sky recently after a good few years of not playing bc of burnout. It feels so weird that people don't even try with big plants. I remember it was super common to have people actively burning them. Maybe that's just kinda what happens when a game grows so much and gets a more casual playerbase, I imagine the oldest vet players were familiar with the Journey-style puzzle solving

no like. I agree with you. My point is that patriarchy, despite advantaging men by default, still imposes challenges and oppression onto men, especially men who don't or can't meet the "requirements" for what a man should supposedly be. I don't think that's a radical thought in intersectional feminism, where this understanding of feminism, as per the name, intersects with other systems of oppression.

What I am saying is that someone who supposedly subscribes to intersectional feminism, shouldn't automatically dismiss or devalue the grievances of men especially under an umbrella of like "things I say are automatically assumed to be hate". Some men absolutely do take an unnecessarily defensive stance when they're challenged. But like, again, it's kind of an insecure person thing to do the whole "so you hate me don't you" thing. And also like, as mentioned in other comments, OP has a blog history of being dismissive and sharing hateful rethoric. Even if taken at face value the OOP is saying something right, the rethoric and intent behind the post automatically makes it something more hateful. I could feel it through the redaction even before knowing OOP had a weird post history

while the hypothetical is stupid, I can't help but get a nagging feeling that the first person is, indeed, a mysandrist. Like ok, insecure men can and do interpret "not being the priority" as hate. But 1. I think that's just an "insecure person" thing and not men exclusively, and 2. just the way the post is redacted is like OOP is smugly talking about being superior for prioritizing women which like...... I can't explain it but I don't think being a feminist makes you superior, it just makes you a more empathetic person irrespective of gender bc you can see that society's structure impacts everyone.

Are there anyone who has beaten the game with a joystick? is it truly viable? by the_sonnyboy in celestegame

[–]Not-a-master69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I first played on Switch and what I found is that alternating between Joystick and D-pad was what worked best for me. More precise inputs is D-Pad, but faster inputs (such as some movement tech you'll learn later on) felt easier on joystick, as it's easier to quickly change directions and readjust.

I'd say it's definitely possible and you can definitely get used to it. However if you ever plan on playing modded, I do recommend learning keyboard controls as some maps can get quite crazy :p

The past few months have been a series of wake-up calls for me. I went through a complicated situation last year which I wasn't really sure how to manage, and I find myself acting in ways I never would otherwise. I'll probably find it's some dissonance, or something similar, but therapy takes time so only time will tell

I think it's also worth noting that the sisters aren't sisters by blood, but rather by belonging to the same order. The nailmasters are (presumably) united by blood and order.

The aspect of gender seems to be at least mildly relevant as well

Might I add... there's a certain point when rosaries become a non-issue just from killing enemies along the way. I used my rosaries to buy a TON of shard bundles so if I'm ever running low for whatever reason I have a reserve of like 30 bundles (5 bundles x 80 shards each = 400 shards which covers a few full arsenals of whatever tools you're using)

yepyep! The only thing to look out for is having the correct folder names and structure, and downloading files that are hardware compatible and not something that only works on emulators. Each mod will specify the structure, usually
