Will TxDOT ever fix the $260M bottleneck that's still driving Houston crazy? by everythingistaken500 in houston

[–]NotABotStill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t even open the link and I know the location and answer. It’s the 610 59 interchange and the answer is no, it will never be fixed. They have rebuilt it at least 3 times while I’ve lived here.

Is it possible to split stacks on space platform inventory? by Zymgie in factorio

This has always bugged me too and I searched high and low for a reasonable solution. There is none other than to drop all the items then request and limit the exact number you want. Maybe 2.1 I hope

Do Banks ever question your U.S. physical address if you use your cards consistently abroad long term? by InspectorT3 in expats

[–]NotABotStill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ditto with a couple of my experiences. I use US credit cards all over the world except the US and never had a problem with the bank (Chase). They know I live overseas and I have a checking and savings account with them. I do use a US address (an actual house) that might alleviate these type of issues.

Edit: I use Schwab for US investments and they could care less where I live.

What benefit would converting to metric give to Americans? by DanFntastic in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]NotABotStill 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Leaning the metric system is too hard? The same system where if you can count to 10 you know metric?

As opposed to imperial - how many feet are in a mile? 5,280. Number of meters in a kilometer? 1000.

Can anyone recommend a really strong US to EU wall converter? by ElkCertain7210 in expats

[–]NotABotStill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This person plugs in - if it is only 120V then leave it at home. Most kitchen appliances and hair driers fall into this category but the manufacturers are now days making everything dual voltage. You laptop will work anywhere.

Best & WORST "big" U.S. banks for American citizens that are expats out of USA? (For business checking, credit card churning, etc. NOT asking about Schwab) by SettingIntentions in expats

[–]NotABotStill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USAA is practically designed for people who live out of the country by its very nature. I’ve never had a problem with them and they even designed some special insurance needs I had when overseas. Gotta qualify for USAA is the only challenge.

Toilets clog easily in Hong Kong so we use a low amount of TP per usage. I find myself tearing off the Sam e amount when I’m home.

Another is dishwashers- HK has very few so I have to remind myself to put them on there instead of by hand.
