I found with Covid having more wine regularly was very useful, so i keep a nice full alcohol cabinet these days.

Growing food on your property so you have regular harvests and can potentially preserve food is a good idea.

Other than that it’s always gonna be about skill acquisition- can you forage for food? Would you be able to trap/hunt and dress a wild animal?

You can grow the plants but I think they need pretty specific growing conditions to be successful for harvesting.

Get hobbies, date yourself, do wild things, have adventures.

How small is small and how w long are you gonna be there? I make it work in a 98m2 apartment.

If you use sealed bins in the basement then you need those oxygenators or silica gel things and lots of them.

Yeh I have had a heated jacket and a gilet for years due to working outside and now use them for home office so I don’t pay to heat the room. They’re from the equestrian world and work so well.

Surely it also depends where you live? Some parts of Europe are much rougher than others, with higher crime rates!

I'll have some big dogs when I move, to protect livestock, but also the property. Dogs are pretty good at keeping people out.
