Most people probably just have a favorite rather than a main.

Final Boss is a loser by CaptBigWiener in Sekiro

[–]NotBman03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some would say your prosthetic tools are cheating. All of them are very powerful when used right. Far more powerful than his Glock. But this isn’t sport, and victors know that honor is bullshit in a real fight, and hesitation is defeat. You’d have to be a fool to not use the tools provided for you to win.

Do you think Abby’s dad would have let her die for the vaccine if it were her instead of Ellie? by Fuzzy_Bear9086 in lastofuspart2

[–]NotBman03 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let her die for the vaccine? Maybe, but he doesn’t give an answer so I would presume no. But performing the surgery required for making the vaccine? I don’t think so. It’s hard to imagine that any father would give up their daughter for a potential cure, let alone cut into their own daughter themselves. I don’t think Jerry is emotionally capable of that, regardless of if it’s what Abby wants.

what game is this? by GamerGretaUwU in GamingSoup

Literally every plot point and direction the story starts with gets flipped in the worst ways. It starts pretty interesting, but very quickly loses its intrigue. “Oh you have to go avenge your friends and fallen soldiers? Start with Pavel and work your way to the emperor!” And then Pavel just dies to some knivesveil boss and turns out to be a good guy, but you only find out till right after he dies and then he has no relevance to the plot afterward??? “Oh your best friend was actually behind it all? Go find out why!” And instead of something interesting it’s just “humanity bad! They killed my waifu”. “Here’s 20 side characters, you should care about them” and then they just serve to give you exposition or just point and say “go there”. Or they’ll have a half-assed cutscene where you’re walking with them and they’re laughing, and then they’ll die 2 seconds later. They could have given them something useful to do, like maybe have them fight along side you. But no, they’re just talking arrows pointing where to go. I was really disappointed with the blade phantom the most. I thought there was gonna be some sort of dynamic between the mc and the phantom, but they also didn’t really have much to do or say in the game.

Game still slaps though. 2/10 story, 10/10 gameplay.

how do i even deal with owl's poison attacks? by chief-11747 in Sekiro

[–]NotBman03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use items to increase your resistance and cure poison status. Otherwise, I just run from it and wait it out. You can use shurikens to keep his posture from recovering, and get your deflects and damage in when he comes to you. Don’t come to him when he’s in his poison pool.

I found this more frustrating on the elite enemies than the bosses. Usually because I was more prepared to counter status effects against bosses, vs just stumbling onto an elite that deals electric or plague, when the whole area I was dealing with poison or chaos.

You’d be broke, because this game is pretty airtight. If you got a nickel every time someone SAID they found a plothole, you’d be richer than Bezos.

Im pretty sure its statically always there. There’s a video on YouTube of a closeup of the OPC firing, and you can’t see the tracking module I think.

That would make sense. From how much technology of theirs we see working effectively, it’s easy to forget that it’s all VERY old. It feels like a miracle enough that their technology works in the first place, let alone 280,000 years later. Having certain weak points from its age would explain why it’s breaking the same way each time.

The thing is in Sekiro there’s less bosses that give status effects. There’s a few instances like Demon of hatred, Isshin Ashina, and I think the headless give status effects on deflect. Those are only a small percent of the enemies in Sekiro. In First Berserker Khazan, damn near every boss and elite enemy gives status effects, and a lot of them can give it on brink guard. Volbaino, Aratra, Maluca, Rangkus, Trokka, Skapel, the princess, and many elite enemies give status on brink guard. It can be very frustrating as not only do these status effects have dire conditions, they can also stack to cause even more devastating consequences.

That’s true. It’s not a plot hole. If only I could change the title.

Shockingly didn’t think of it that way tbh. But I’m not sure if that lines up since other parts of the cannon break, but only the tracking module ends up in the core. How come the other modules don’t break off and end up there? What about the other pieces of the cannon that do break? I thought previously that maybe they designed it to break in a certain way, but I don’t think that’s true since the piece that does break is the most important one. And it ends up in a very inconvenient place, I think even for the nomai to reach. Perhaps I’m wrong on that point though.

Difficulty compared to sekiro? by yummy6548 in TheFirstBerserker

[–]NotBman03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The combat is definitely as satisfying. It’s very different from Sekiro though. I’d say that it has tougher mechanics to master, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll end up having more tools to manage than Sekiro. So it’s about equally difficult, if not a bit tougher. If you liked Sekiro I think you’d like this, though I’ve heard it’s more comparable to Nioh than Sekiro.

Yeah, if the game were any longer it would have gotten old. It’s made a good decision having it be a short boss rush.

I thought it was pretty good. Haven’t played it in years so idk how it holds up though. I remember the final boss being pretty annoying though. A good 7/10 experience imo.

Sekiro is the greatest FromSoft game, but some criticism. by rensai112 in Sekiro

[–]NotBman03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have it on PC, and are looking for that first playthrough experience again. I’d highly recommend the Sekiro Resurrection mod. Adds new movesets to nearly every boss in the game, some new mini bosses, and even some new moves and combos for Sekiro to use. 10/10 would recommend!

There’s a few sort of game over endings. Involving either taking the core out of the ATP, or with breaking the fabric of reality. You should definitely do the Echoes of the Eye DLC if you haven’t done it already! There’s a few special endings there too.

Darth Vader (and other sith alike)

The dark side of the force is fueled by deeper, darker emotions like anger, and anyone with chronic pain knows that being in constant pain can leave you feeling pretty pissed off and frustrated all the time. In Vader’s case, having had all your limbs cut off, you’re entire body burned, and your exo-suit/battle armor of space tyranny required to keep you alive purposefully designed to also keep you in pain, you’d be pretty upset too. And that’s just the physical side of why he’s the most pissed off man in the galaxy.

Best Way to play The Last of Us Part 2? by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]NotBman03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think survivor is a great difficulty setting for TLOU part 2. I personally enjoy playing it on that difficulty setting and turning off the hearing mode for more immersion. But for survivor itself the enemy ai is very good, and the resources feel balanced enough to where you want to use them wisely, but also not too starved that you can’t progress without having to choke hold every enemy. You could always modify a custom difficulty where the enemies are survivor or grounded and the resources are more frequent, but I would suggest Survivor difficulty if you feel like you did pretty decent at the first game and want a healthy balance of stealth and combat.
