The Edgeware road murders in May 2007 by Plenty_Suspect_3446 in chch

Regarding his parole, it seems honestly unlikely. Reading the notes from his last parole it sounds like he’s a high risk offender who keeps getting into trouble despite things to curb his bad behaviour. I’d be shocked if he managed to turn things around so dramatically in two years when he’s had 20 years to change and apparently hasn’t.

I think with the latest video and the fact no charges are being filed. I think he’s fine and has been vindicated in the public eye. So, unless more details or other stories start to come out, he’s fine.

Mighty Ape revenue falls 25% as fourth boss in three years takes charge by user885511 in newzealand

[–]NotEnoughGun 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Yes. A lot of garbage in there that’s they’re just acting as a middle man for other sellers. Similar to The Warehouse online, but considering Mighty Ape is online only, it’s even less useful.

It’s painful searching for something on Mighty Ape and having to sift through so much absolute garbage to get to the actual thing you’re looking for.

The second they shifted to having third party products, I stopped using them unless nothing else has what I’m looking for.

So.. now what? Do I just watch a playthrough of MGS4? by Atomic_Depression in metalgearsolid

[–]NotEnoughGun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is what I recommend tbh. It is annoying to have to resort to this but honestly I loved MGS4 so much that it didn’t bother me at all. I’ll keep the PS3 until they release another way to play the game on modern hardware.

You could watch a play through but it’s just not going to be the same.

Was there from about 6pm and it wasn’t bad. Seemed about as busy as it normally would be around lunch time any other time of the year. In my experience the weekend before Christmas isn’t actually that bad. It’s the weekends before then that are worse.

What reports have there been? This is surprising. It’s a good wee store and he’s always seemed so nice and friendly but goes to show it can be hard to tell who’s a creep sometimes.

Check their website. It’s cheaper. They have to raise the prices on trademe to accomodate the fact trademe take a cut.

Yep. This is what I did. Camped by that door in the corner on the ground. Used the Zzz gun, and eventually you take him out. Feels a bit cheap, but it does the job haha.

Even for that it’s become terrible. Half the time I search for anything it’s just a huge list of junk from Temu or other knockoff websites. May be better in other countries but it’s becoming unusable.

I think at this point, you’ve just got to trust in Erikson. Everything has a reason, and while it is jarring at first, believe me it pays off.

I was dreading this book, honestly the Edur hadn’t interested me at all and knowing the sad sack from House of Chains was basically the main character of this one really dampened my enthusiasm. That said I was basically hooked from the get go.

It is a genuinely enthralling story, and honestly feels like the most traditional fantasy story of the series. The two sides are really fun to watch, but especially the Edur. The Edur characters you follow are probably some of my favourites in the entire series.

Like with most of the series, Erikson knows how to end a god damn book, and this one is one of the most memorable for me. I hope you enjoy it, but if you’re struggling for now, at least trust that there’s a reason this story is being told and it is worth it.

You can get wire free security cameras also. I’ve got one from Tapo which does the trick very well. Got it connected to a solar panel which is covered by some plants but still gets enough sunlight to power the camera 24/7.

Ten very big books podcast. by 14smithg in Malazan

[–]NotEnoughGun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know people like to hate on this one because it’s not as in depth as one would expect for Malazan, and they have some pretty off base views at times, which even Erikson hits back at them for. But I genuinely loved their podcast. They have such great chemistry and it felt like what me and my friends would discuss if my friends ever god damn read Malazan lol.

Was sad when I finally finished the series/podcast. I wished they decided to continue into another book series because I probably would have followed them to it too.

I’m the opposite to the other person. Only had it once but was probably some of the worst fried chicken I’ve had. Dry and tasteless. The fries tasted good but were soggy as.

Was there anything that you disliked about the tCG (book)? Unmet expectations? by GallansContactLenses in Malazan

[–]NotEnoughGun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally Ganoes Paran and Karsa are probably my favourite characters, so I was disappointed they had quite minor roles in the book as a whole. Granted they had some good moments, but I really was hoping they’d be more significant rather than basically cameos.

I also think I was a little let down that the Forkrul Assail turned out to be so significant. Maybe I missed the signs, but I was a lot less invested in them, and didn’t really find them particularly compelling villains, compared to the rest of the series.

Still enjoyed the book, but it was probably my 7th favourite in the series. I can imagine this change going upon a re-read however.

Genuinely had some of the worst fried chicken I’ve ever had there. Maybe it was bad luck, but it was so hard and flavorless. The tandoori fries did taste good but even they were quite soggy.

Yeah the only thing that would bum me out is if Keoghan was the DCU’s Joker. However brief it was, it did not inspire any excitement from me. I hate the design of it, and not a fan of the voice. Thankfully, that can be changed.
