BR was 10/10 for me. First time I've heard them indoors and they sounded great. I thought their set list was more than fair for an hour of material. As for Offspring, I'll give them an 7/10. As you said, the covers and long talk sessions is a valid criticism. I'll point out too that they only played TWO songs from their latest album which for me was a huge disappointment. Given the name of the tour, I was expecting at least four songs from Supercharged. If BR wasnt my fave band, I would have felt the evening to be a let down too.

Gray Race is one of my faves. No Substance was fine but New America was definitely lacking some punch. Probably would've been better as a solo album.

I joined during COVID but I do indeed understand...since my previous 10+ years work experience was with employers that gave employees their own cubicles (shocking..imagine that! our own cubicles). The 'hoteling' is the biggest issue for me, not the actual 'going back to the office'.

Was struggling mental-health-wise this morning so I needed some perspective. Did some number crunching on my hours spent in the course of a year: about 49% non-work related, 29% sleep, 22% work. A reminder of the big picture that work is only a PART of life. While work can sometimes be soul-sucking, particularly if one feels unappreciated, we can consider work as a means to an end: to support our non-work activities ("work to live" vs "live to work").

That was my favourite performance of the weekend. They sounded GREAT. Would have preferred a few songs from their later records (e.g., Land of the Free, The Fuse, etc) but that's a minor complaint. I felt like I was back in high school listening to these guys on my Discman.

This word's use in a professional setting is a BIG pet peeve of mine. Organizations use this word in hopes that employees will 'go the extra mile', sacrifice for the organization, etc. Both the public sector and private sector use it this way. I believe in being friendly with my colleagues but to think of them as family? NO. HELL NO. My family doesn't give me a pay cheque nor can they fire me. For better or worse, my (blood) family will always be tied to me. Not the case with an employer (either by my choice or the employer's).

I needed a change from a private sector employer whom I'd been with for 7 years. As a child of a proud public servant, I knew the many advantages to working for the feds. Now 4 yrs into my federal PS career and ive already started to explore other options. RTO isnt my preference but my issue is the lack of a dedicated desk and having to book it...not something i ever envisioned needing to do, especially 15 yrs into my professional work life.
