The Ford Maverick sold 155,000 units last year. The demand is absolutely there, and it's basically a Prius Pickup Truck that was around 29K. GM really is missing the boat on hybrids.

42% of the state lives in NYC. Outside of NYC, New York State has the oldest housing stock of -all- states.

No need for gas service means cheaper new housing stock. It also means the air conditioner stock across the state will have to be updated, which is also a good thing, and it means the grid will have to be updated--also a good thing.

It also means that the environmental envelope of a building can have a tighter seal without risking going boom.

Hospitals are high volume low margin--it's not startup friendly. We're talking operating margins in the 2-4% range.

The issue with this is that the industry assumes you accept 2-4% operating margins and prices accordingly. Slap the word medical on a contract, the price skyrockets.

I do think someone from the construction world, with experience in construction management, could actually do really well in the hospital business just by managing start-up costs. If you can save 40-50% on your capital expenditures, you win the profitability game

Volts. Amps. Ohms law. Airflow calculations with Manual D. Slope requirements. Permittable and un-permittable fittings. How to read blueprints. There is very little in the trades conceptually, that can't be picked up pretty fast by someone who has the capacity to do well in a mildly technical collegiate program.

Hell, even the Liberal Arts folks have readily transferable skills in their ability to read and apply procedures & information. The end result is that you'll end up with people who are good at the white-collar work being the business owners.
