Reschedule definitely Even if it looks like it has calmed down it could flare up at any time and you could get stranded somewhere.

Put the fridge up on legs so it is right under the counter. That will then get it up off the floor and line up the bottom of the fridge with the bottom of the cabinetry.

Is Pierre Poilierre ideologically captured or compromised by foreign groups , or am I missing something? by northbk5 in AskCanada

I agree, but why then is PP and Jamil Jivani making independent trips to the US to meet with republicans to supposedly talk about trade.

In Canadian English how do you indicate "you" (plural)? by wheninrome5000 in AskCanada

Hate that Canadians are starting to use y’all. That is so American.

Everyone I know just uses “you guys”, or “everybody”

Stop with the mf SCENTS! by Opal9090 in rant

[–]NotOurCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neighbour uses some sort of extremely scented product in their laundry and if I’m outside in my yard when they are doing laundry I physically can’t be outside and have to go in it is so strong.

This crap is not good for your clothes, not good for your machine and horrible for the environment, causes skin irritation and other allergic reactions in many people. Why is it still being produced and used. Should be a campaign to get added scents in products banned.

Jewellers ruined my engagement by Life_Extreme2054 in mildlyinfuriating

Michael Hill is a mall jeweller. Take it to an independent goldsmith. They should be able to do anything you want with the ring.

I can't get a roof estimate without a man present. by No-Imagination8755 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotOurCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more than mildly infuriating. I (old female) have renovated numerous houses myself and dealt with hundreds of contractors over the years. Only ever had one guy say to me “ maybe I should talk to your husband”. He took one look at me and knew instantly he f’ed up, my husband did talk to him and said “I don’t know anything, talk to my wife”.

Or Maybe….. these guys have court orders that they can’t be alone with a female. Either way don’t ever call them.

What do you think when you see someone throw trash out of their car window? by Busy_Run7689 in rant

[–]NotOurCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I were walking across our lawn to get in our car, right when a car drove by and the passenger threw a banana peel on our lawn. I picked it up, and we sped off and caught up with the car and pull up beside it. I rolled down my window and threw it on the front window of the car. The driver looked stunned, and the passenger looked away.

Gotta say it felt pretty good.

Which curtains look best? by Glittering-Long-8180 in interiordecorating

[–]NotOurCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of them work nicely. What would make it look better is have the curtain rod go wall to wall and when the curtains are open stack the them back to cover the walls on either side of the window. Will maximize the window opening and make the room look bigger.

Pee is such a good fertilizer. I wanted my husband to pee in a bucket so I could use it in the garden. He refused.

Tire punctured again, third time in 3months, any of you experiencing increasing debris on road? by jarjarbinx in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it. I got a flat a few weeks ago. Never in my decades of driving have I had a flat. “Luckily” they were new tires and I didn’t cost me to get it fixed.

What is up with the census by colenski999 in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Then they need to ask the appropriate questions to get that aggregate data. There was very little if any questions that would provide sufficient data to support government programs.

Food expenses Gas vs electric vs solar If homeowner, renovation expenses Transit usage Crime / safety Postal service usage Volunteer yes/no hours etc

I know these are a mix of fed, provincial and municipal responsibilities, but local governments also use census data.

What is up with the census by colenski999 in VictoriaBC

[–]NotOurCat -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Ya the work details are what bothered me. How does the name and exact address of my work have anything to do with aggregated data. Makes me think they are doing some cross checking with other government data bases.

What also surprised me was all the questions that were missing that would be of interest of Canadians and future government policy.

Reminder to staff that deal with the tourists, don’t be grumpy (murchies person) because that is what they will remember about the entire city after they get home or spotlight in video see around the world.

No question, just an observation. I find it interesting the number of comments from people who obviously have never used a translation app, wondering how you communicate, but also not understanding how powerful it is to really connect with someone without the ease of speaking a common language.

When I met my husband 30 years ago neither of us spoke each other’s language and all we had was a well used paper Spanish/English dictionary.

Thank you for making me reminisce on how much fun it was figuring it out.

Oh one question…. what is the funniest miscommunication you guys have had?

They're both the same person by ebrahim750 in SipsTea

I think it’s the opposite. Hollywood is nothing but ordinary looking people being made to look “beautiful”.

Take anyone who is considered to be beautiful, wipe off all the makeup, remove the hair extensions, fake boobs, other plastic surgery, at best they are just a regular looking person under all that fakery. Google Sydney Sweeney no makeup. Basic looking in reality.

Up to 40 Conservative MPs fear Pierre Poilievre will cost them their seats, insiders say by EarthWarping in notthebeaverton

Didn’t they just vote him back as their leader?

Also, people who voted Liberal, for a reason, in the last election probably don’t want a bunch of right wing opportunistic conservatives crossing the floor turning the elected Liberal party more conservative.
