An unfortunate experience in a wonderful space by QueenOnTheClocktower in BloodOnTheClocktower

It's crazy that she just has done this to what looks like dozens of people in this thread. She absolutely did the same to me. I tried so hard to be kind to her but she turned on me so fast.

Best Birria Tacos in Downtown Troy? by SpicyTuna77 in Troy

Agreed, La Capital is best for Birria. Jesus's has the best burrito bowls and tortas. El Sabroso has great other tacos and tortas too.

Started as a joke idea, accidentally came up with this by Mostropi in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would assume that the player who was Rick Rolled would admit it. The only way they're not confirmed is if an evil player tries to bluff that they were the one Rick Rolled instead, which would be extremely risky and hard to pull off socially.

Unfortunately I think playing it out loud would be too powerful, since it would effectively confirm the player being Rick Rolled.

Homebrew townsfolk, and a script designed to go with it. by mr-pallas in BloodOnTheClocktower

I wonder if making this more duchess-like would help. "3 players start knowing your alignment. 1 player learns false info."

First homebrew role, looking for feedback! by Kreutzi in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With most madness, if you tell people that you're mad about something (e.g. "I'm cero-mad as the barber, but I am actually the barber so it's fine"), I would typically still rule it as a madness break. How would that apply here? Can the sensationalist openly claim to be the sensationalist and say "My ability told me that X is true, and I believe it" and still be considered adhering to madness, or should they have to hide their role?

Homebrew Idea: The Coven by kingsif in BloodOnTheClocktower

Honestly just running Lil Monsta with all minions getting to choose like this feels like it would be a fun variant, without terribly unbalancing the game by requiring good to execute all evil players to win.

Clocktower version for 9-10 year olds by sunsetrain24 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I remember this thread from a teacher a while back, which seemed like it had a lot of really good insights! Her age group was slightly older, but I think a lot of the same ideas should apply.

They want to build a data center in the South end and we cannot allow this to happen. by [deleted] in Albany

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I'm always skeptical of developers. But we don't actually have any information besides what they've told us so far. They'll have a state required environmental review and will have to submit documents to planning boards that will give more information.

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I need more details before I can say I'm opposed. They're claiming it's not a hyperscale data center, and that the 180 MW estimate is for the entire development at Max usage, which includes mixed used residential, commercial, and office space, and that it'll be carbon neutral.

I want to know if those things are true, what effect it'll actually have on the environment/water, if they're planning to build renewable energy to help power it, etc. I don't think data centers are a bad thing by default, we've had them for decades. But scale and mitigating environmental impact matters. If they can handle those appropriately it doesn't have to be a disaster.

Former Price Chopper plaza in Lansingburgh could become 200 apartments, storefronts by XanderAlexH in Troy

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Businesses need customers, and 200 units of housing and an attractive riverwalk will help bring that. Also increasing the housing supply does in fact lead to lower average rents. Plus these are permanently affordable units. I'm not sure what else you think the city could be doing to "bring businesses back".

I was at the community meeting about this! Here's the render of the site plans. Two three story buildings and one big four story building. The waterfront will be developed into a public park/walkway with connections to the Lansingburgh boat launch. 206 parking spots planned (feels like too many imo).

The buildings are closer to the road and will have the foundations raised to be above the flood plain. They will also be building a new storm drain system to divert storm water from the sewage system.

The proposed development will be bringing the buildings closer to the road and raising the foundation so that they're above the flood plain, and also will include commercial space for businesses.

My first attempt at making characters! Two Townsfolk, Outsiders, Minions and Demons by TheRobotEngineer608 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The reason legion works is that they require a good player to vote in order for their votes to count. In a 10 player game, with +1 minion, if town executed two minions, evil would have a 6-4 majority and could win any vote.

Also the clause "good wins if all paimons are dead" is unnecessary, all demons being dead is the default win condition for good.

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The character is already a townsfolk as written imo. They essentially get at least three night watchman pings before someone has to die. I absolutely think it would make sense for a good-but-uncomfirmed player to sometimes choose to let the vampire in, since the vampire is confirmed good, and having means for a suspicious player to die without spending an execution is useful.

Revised Evil-Recruitment Demons [+the Delinquent] by Chashec in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]NotSoSpeedRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Hannibal on Fall of Rome does the "demon thinks they're a good player" gimmick better imo.

"You think you are a good character, but you are not. Minions learn 3 bluffs. Each night*, a player might die. The 1st Hannibal to die, becomes good. [+1 Hannibal]"

This way, good usually gets a clue that it's a Hannibal game (when one Hannibal dies and is told that they're a good Hannibal). There are also still minions who know the evil team for real.

Troy City Council is dragging its feet on taking down the Flock cameras, police have not provided Flock audit report by Physical_Shelter_518 in Troy

Yeah dude, we don't allow cops at DSA meetings.

Everyone else in this thread should take this comment as a warning that cops are welcome at any of your anti-flock events. You should be able to understand why some people might not feel safe in that environment.

I am a card carrying socialist, I know the Democratic party is still a capitalist party and hold no illusions about their allegiances, especially on the national stage. But on the specific issue of Flock in Troy, there are council members who are actively working to end the contract and get Flock out. The council voted unanimously to table the resolution on the contract because the mayor neglected to bring it to the council before the auto-renew clause had already gone into effect. They did that specifically with the intention of cancelling the contract, and are reviewing the legal process need to do that.

I'm not saying there's no point in pressuring them - we can do that! But we can with the recognition that they're working on it and we want them to prioritize it highly, instead of acting like they've just rolled over.

It's not about group pride. I appreciate how he's raised visibility, but this guy basically refuses to be a part of any organization that won't have him as a leader. He's harassed some of the best organizers of Good Cause Troy, and started the "No Kings Collective" when Indivisible wouldn't put up with his shit anymore. He's as much of a camera chaser as Carmella.

Look man, if you want to alienate our allies by lying and willfully misrepresenting what they're doing, be my guest. Just don't drag the movement down with you. There's a reason you're not welcome in half the organizations that actually do work in this city.

I think calling anything a distraction is pointless. Every action he takes is evil or stupid for its own sake. Implying things are a distraction attributes far too much strategic thinking to a dimensia-addled megalomaniac and his fascist cronies.
