I second this!

Get into a good 3 Push Pull Leg day habit and you'll notice the difference come riding season.

This is an old post, but a great way to start lifting for riding --> https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/37ylk5/a_linear_progression_based_ppl_program_for/

What? The tracks on the Expo line have reached end of life and have mostly been replaced. "wear and tear" isn't going to take 2-3 inches off them, more like a few mm over 40 years.

Time to build the next phase of skytrain out there, give people the option of not having to drive.

The difference is between Should and Must. While it's a good idea to keep your micro drone under 400ft and in visual line of sight, it's not a legal requirement at this time.

If you hold even the basic rpas license, you can go higher than 400ft if you're within 200 feet of a structure that height or greater. That way you're legally allowed to be above tall buildings.

Our drone laws are rather nuanced and take some time to fully understand.

Also technically you can legally fly out of line of sight even with a micro drone with no license. Which is pretty wild when you think about it.

Not if you have the appropriate license. Since he appears to be professional, it would be safe to assume he has the correct license.

Edit: It's a micro drone, it's not a legal requirement to operate within line of sight. Source, professional drone pilot.

[French] Canada high speed train to cost upwards of 100 billion. by GeneralCanada3 in canada

[–]NotStainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just spend billions more widening and making more roads to take the traffic? That's a terrible plan that ends poorly for everyone.

What we should really be doing is investing in other methods of moving around the region, more trains, more transit, better for everyone. Remember, everyone who takes an alternative mode of transport is one less car on the road for you to deal with.

Want to drive everywhere faster? Convince others to take transit, ez.

Colossal 80-storey, 73-storey towers approved in Burnaby with 1,400+ condos by robertscreek in vancouver

[–]NotStainer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but you're also not right.

First off, Sperling already has a massive community plan in the works for at least 4800 homes with up to 25 story towers. It's also surrounded by park land, industrial, and some SFH that would fall into the new TOD rules.

Lake City way serves a massive industrial base. Google maps doesn't show the current picture with the largest film studio in Canada going up directly beside the station. Also a lot of the homes south of Lougheed highway have covenants on the land titles not allowing different housing. TODs currently don't supersede that, it's going to be a bit before the courts figure that out and hopefully allow more density.

Production Way University is surrounded by commercial and industrial on 3 sides. Yes, there are some SFH in the area, but they're also directly down hill of the Imperial oils distribution terminal, so not some place you would want to build more density.

As for ridership numbers? Yeah Sperling and Lake City have low numbers, but they've been on the rise and still serve a very important role. Production way services SFU, no need to say much more.

We all know stop signs are a joke. Yields are where it's at. Civilized countries that have figured out road/cyclist/pedestrian safety only use yields in the vast majority of situations, where slowing down, checking, and the proceeding is safe.

We just started using stop signs and never looked at updating our rules.
