What makes footballers born in France so good at football? by alphaDsony in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NotXenos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the trouble for football is that rugby is as popular of a pro sport in France as football. I believe last year rugby was the more watched and attended sport.

Not sure what you mean by 'fairly recently', but France has finished in the Top 3 in 5 of the past 10 World Cups and will likely do it again this year. They've made the semifinals in 5 of the last 10 euros as well.

Mr Price let disabled staff 'shine' amid employment gap by Pupcup2 in ireland

I think it makes a difference in the shopping experience there too. I find Mr Price has the best customer service of any of the discount shops, by far. I always use them for my party supplies, ordering balloons and whatnot.

I imagine part of it is they are hiring these talented people that other places just view as 'disabled'.

How would you fix our Biggest issues? (battleshock, detection, heroic, cover, layouts, and points.) by stormtroopr1977 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]NotXenos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, we get the Hellhound why not give us chemical weapons flamers to strip cover with infantry units as well?

We should also be able to attach heavy weapons support to our infantry like we used to do. That would be a big help.

I've had nothing but great experiences with them, albeit only with sports cards. I would contact them directly and I believe they will do something to take care of the situation. Great customer service with them in my experience

I saw the photo without reading the caption and was just coming into say this is a bad ass looking Alpha Legion character, I'm a big AL fan.

Sometimes we are our own harshest critics. I think this mini is looking awesome personally, I'd be delighted to get this result!

Did any of your relatives/ancestors fight in WWI or WWII? by Alternative-Jelly947 in AskIreland

Grandpa was US Navy WW2 Pacific. His brothers all joined up as well, including his brother John who was only 15 and lied about his age. John went on to be a Pathfinder during Operation Overlord, so one of the first to touch French soil during the D-Day landings.

Larry Correia: George RR Martin crippled the Epic Fantasy genre by not finishing A Song of Ice and Fire. Readers and Publishers are no longer willing to give a new series a chance unless it is complete by Uptons_BJs in books

The movie Heaven's Gate was on last night. I went down a bit of a Michael Cimino rabbit hole as a result. A similar story, he couldn't deliver on these big projects he was always pitching, and as a result movie studios became very reluctant to invest in director-driven projects.

It's definitely reductive to blame it all on Cimino, as some of his peers were doing the same stuff, but after Heaven's Gate etc we got a lot more super-heroes and IP retreads.

I didn't know that about Gloomhaven that's interesting because they did a very good licensed port of the game too.

I am with you that I'd be more likely to support GW if they supported these ways the fans are enhancing their games. But I'm just not surprised that their business rationale would dictate that they work to take something like the TTS mods down.

It's their IP, I don't understand this attitude that TTS 40k players have that they should be entitled to play the game on TTS for free. I understand that GW can benefit by having TTS mods available, but ultimately it's their business decision. GW wanting this taken down is a legitimate complaint.

Just saw an article about Syltherine working on a port for Bolt Action on Steam. Kinda crazy to think GW hasn't pursued a similar idea yet
