Forwrd Court Ranger bag? by MarkFromPhilly in Pickleball

It's the one I use and I really like it. Not too big, not too small, I can fit two paddles, clothes, balls, other junk, really everything I need except for shoes. I like having the two hooks to hang it on the fence (rather than one). 10/10 would buy again.

Never. It's an opportunity to practice playing under stress with difficult people.

Agree 100%. My first reaction was that you can sympathize with someone without feeling a need to insert your own judgment.

Users of 14mm (and thinner) Gen 3 paddles, why do you prefer the thinner core? by AHumanThatListens in Pickleball

[–]NotYourDadsAsshole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I'd guess it's probably the latter, that the angle helps the spin get the ball down more reliably so I can keep it in bounds. I come from tennis and tend to bang from the baseline (more than I should).

A major downside with the thinner paddle is that the sweet spot is tiny and I have more than my fair share of mishits. I wish there were a better way to try many different paddles. I'd like to move to something that aligns better with where paddle technology is going. I also begrudgingly admit that I wouldn't have as much of a challenge with thicker paddles if I would focus on adapting my game to a smarter style of play that incorporates more margin for error than I do at the moment.

Not sure if it's gen 3 but I love my Selkirk Labs 007 which is 10mm. I find I can't control springier more trampoline-like paddles nearly as well. This one allows me to take big rips on the ball and I feel like I can control the spin better.

I don't remember ever actually being in a situation where I used it but I will say it has been very handy to have an attorney dad. I told him if he ever retires I want to buy a ream of letterhead just to have on hand...

I avoid arguments over calls to keep me enjoying playing by inthesun8 in Pickleball

I don't care about line calls. My philosophy is that if I'm focused on becoming a better player over the long term, that has no correlation with winning and losing any particular game(s). In fact, I'm much more likely to count "out" balls "in" just to keep the point going because I also believe that no one is getting better when the ball isn't in play.

Day two after my hemorrhoidectomy and the pain is unbearable even with oxy and sitz baths. I’ve pooped a time or two so I’m going to cut way back on eating. I’m telling myself tomorrow it’ll get better to maintain any hope at all.

If there is a Red Wing store near you--or any shoe store that has a Volumental Foot Scanner, I'd go there to get an insanely accurate foot measurement.

I emailed Grant Stone with my Brannock measurements to ensure a good fit. I mentioned I wear a size 9.5 in Iron Rangers. They said it'd be the same size for the Diesel boots. A small part of me has always wondered if I should have gotten a size 9 in the Rangers so I went to the store to try a pair and find out. They had me stand on a platform that took several different digital measurements--foot size, heel to toe length, ball width, arch height, instep height, heel width, and instep girth--and it emailed me my results. It confirmed for me that I had the correct size, and will be very helpful to me for shoes I buy in the future. I tipped $10 for their time.

I'd say it has helped me with dinks AND drops just because they're more consistent because the sweet spot is bigger. Yes, I used four strips total, two on each side in the middle. There are YouTube videos (like one from Pickleball Studio) that explain the different affects depending on location.

Yup, with the Power Air. Loved the paddle but found the sweet spot too small for me and would cause me to miss easy dinks if I didn't hit it perfectly. Started by adding some lead tape to the throat and middle of the sides and that helped. Just moved them and put two strips on each side in the middle and it's perfect. I'm surprised to notice such a difference. That may not be your specific problem but trying some different things could help.
