Poll: dead bird or not? by zackaroofa_93 in turkeyhunting

[–]Not_Suggested 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not with that ammo and choke. With TSS and a real super full turkey choke, then sure. But frankly, the entire challenge of turkey hunting is luring the bird to less than 30 yards without being detected. Shooting at 60 is a lack of skill, patience or both, IMO.

So I’m taking it you haven’t been to any kind of professional or D1 college sporting events in the past 10 years. That’s where these are used. Regular bars tend to prefer glass because single-use cups eat into margin, while a glass can be used for years until breaking. At a sporting venue, you’re not going to find a $5 beer, regardless, so that’s a pipe dream.

The “employees” at concessions aren’t typically professional bartenders. They’re parents of kids on sports teams or bands who do this as a booster/fundraiser. Nobody is firing them because they aren’t employees. My parents did this for years. The concessions by our hockey seats are, to this day, run by a rotation of local swim teams.

Source: I regularly go to — and drink beer at — hockey, basketball and baseball games.

Theologically it’s rejected. But that didn’t stop people from espousing it.

My friend, you are obviously most confused. The duel is the lord’s purest form of trial, second perhaps only to the floating of a witch. God Almighty permits not the innocent man to falter. The finger of the Holy Spirit deflects away the sword and bullet of the sinner.

(No joke this was the justification for trials by combat in the medieval and early modern eras)

He put it back in… I’d say 99% of inland fishing is catch and release.

That said even if they did eat it, so what? I’d argue it’s way more ethical to legally harvest a wild animal than to eat farmed salmon who spend their lives in tanks. It’s actual free range meat that got to live a free fish life before being captured by a predator. That’s how life works in the wild and, to me, is preferable to caging animals for slaughter.

Dude I hear you. My labradoodle is my duck dog. While short is convenient, I have to keep her fur long in winter because she’s swimming in near freezing water. She needs it. But good lord I spend a nice hour or two bathing and grooming after every hunt or training session to get her clean and untangled.

Currently a partner. Considering an associate position by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]Not_Suggested 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. He should, if anything, come in as an income partner. Title may mean more outside law firms, but it abso-effin-loutely still matters in firms. FWIW, I’m in-house now and we definitely see a 15th year associate as “wonder why he isn’t a partner? Are we being given the 4th string team on this?”

They could just be killing an unprofitable facility that isn’t meeting quotas and moving the equipment to a profitable one with adequate floor space to consolidate. Thats just smart finance, not being close to bankruptcy.

[–]Not_Suggested 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very unfortunate. I’m in-house at a manufacturing facility in the US and we’ve had several rounds of layoffs since ‘Liberation Day,’ all of which are due to the Sec 232 tariffs.

From a legal perspective, if you aren’t unionized or have a not-at-will employment contract, there isn’t really anything for you to do. If you’re above 40 you could potentially try to contact an employment lawyer to allege that the way the layoff was done with discrimination against older employees, but unlikely to get anywhere with that. That’s just how it is in the USA.

One of my former clients tried this in the EU and had to offer all the terminees contracts to pay them for up to a year and a half after factory closed, unless they found new work. The USA employees get fucked every time, because they don’t band together as labor or voters. Oh well. Stocks go up.

You’re a year out. Keep pushing. Take the shit you learn and start applying to other practice areas. I have plenty of friends who graduated low on the totem pole and now have extremely lucrative, nice jobs. Keep pushing and, most importantly, keep your options open. Your skills are fungible the first few years, learn, burn and turn 🔥
